California Zephyr in Denver 5:00 p.m.

Ok, I left work today and there is the California Zephyr sitting in Denver Union Station.  I check Amtrak's web site and see that the schedule states the train is expected to arrive 2 hours and 38 minutes early (or 5:00 p.m.).  How in the world does a train get 2 hours and 38 minutes early?

Re: California Zephyr in Denver 5:00 p.m.

When the CZ runs around the Rockies (across Wyoming) and not thru them (through Provo, Grand Junction, and the Moffat Tunnel), it can arrive quite early. On certain days this summer, the UP is detouring the CZ  because of trackwork.
