20 Fastrack turnouts.  Most are powered off a bus wire setup, but the ones in the yard are off track power as each track has a separate feed with on/off switch.  Fastrack turnouts require very little power to operate, so my running separate power is probably overkill.

Re: How many switches do you have on your layout??

I just completed a small Lionel layout wwith 7 switches, 5 O-22 and 2 O-72. This layout constructed in a hurry, on two 36 inch wide hollow core doors connected end to end. The layout is portable and was built for an office celebration (and future unborn grandchildren.

The structures are interchangeable with my fixed permanent layout which suffered damage recently as is now ready to be constructed.

I hope you enjoy the video at this link:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/22371035@N03/3733967184/:

I have a total of 16, used to have 20, but removed two crossovers as they were seldom used and just caused additional problems.  Nine are realtrax in 054, 042 and 031.  The other 7 are Atlas #5 and 054.  The Atlas are powered by an 18 volt industrial transformer and the Realtrax by a Lionel 1033.

Re: How many switches do you have on your layout??

I have six. I had seven but one died(it was an Atlas which I used the curved part as the main line). Two control whether I have an 072 loop or a longer main line run thru Ponyshoe Curve(042). The other 4 or 5, counting the bad one are for spurs where I have my accessories. I fried my smoke units when I was a kid having the accessories on the main line and stopping the train to work them.
