The wiring was done in the February 2009 issue. To connect the command station to the bus, and to connect the bus across the joint between the sections, they used a Marklin plug and socket connector, part # 71400. The bus wire they used was #18 stranded. I mention this because I don't know what the wire size capacity of the Marklin part is and don't know if the larger size wires will fit into the Marklin part.
If you are talking about the connections between the bus and the track, they used the red ScotchLok suitcase connectors. These connectors are sized for the different wire sizes (the main bus wire and the connection wire to the track). The article does not specify (at least during quick reading) what the track connection wire size was. But it does state that the wire was Brawa stranded wire part numbers 3102 and 3108.
