For the Halloween Fans

Just got home from Michael's and would you believe they are already setting up the halloween displays.

Lemax has come out with some new items this year, one just mite be destined for our humble abode. Especially if I can use one of my 40% coupons.

dougdagrump,

The name of the game is MONEY!

Money talks, everyone else walks!

Retail is like that, they plan a year before hand to get the displays, scenery, products, etc.., ready for big sales.

I worked fourteen years in a retail store and Christmas is the biggest season of the year and one year the store started in the middle of July getting ready for Christmas, it was depressing.

My Halmark Store is offering a 20% discount on purchases of $100.00 or more from items in their Christmas catalog. That is, if ordered and paid for by July 5.

Re: For the Halloween Fans

Here are some pics of the Halloween display layout that I built for my then Girlfriend(now Wife) and her Kids last year. It is built on a 36" wide hollow core door with screw on legs.

I am hoping to set it up again shortly after Labor Day. I have gotten some more animated items for it for this year. I have a working semaphore and working crossing gates for both crossings, but the MTH directions aren't very clear about how to connect all 5 wires using an insulated track section to trigger them, nice looking accessories, I just need to figure out the wiring for them. I also will be replacing the Plasticville Ranch house with a Lionel Haunted House, with the flying witch. There are a few other additions/improvements that I would like to make, but they may not happen this year, but hey there is always next year.

Re: For the Halloween Fans

At our Michael's, the items are on-shelf, but working models are not set up yet. As of 7/7, a few items were almost sold out (trick or treaters and family portrait). I always get a laugh when someone posts "wait until after Halloween and get them cheap". Around here, the "hot" ones are gone before the end of August!
