I an looking for information about the Lionel engines that Penney sold during the 1990's into the early 2000's.

How many where there , year and model , numbers Lionel  assigned to then.

Re: J.C. Penny

The only engine I can help with is this one.

6-18050 Steam PRR 4-6-2 Pacific/Tender #2055

I think it was from 1996.

I have the  LIONEL 18809 SUSQUEHANNA RS-3.  It has dual motors and runs well.  Thinking of adding TMCC.  I am not sure of the date it was released.

I have a GM&O dual motored RS-3. It runs well too. It has a broken coupler at the moment.

Re: J.C. Penny

Hope someone can help you.  Did not realize J C Penny still sold trains like they use too.  I have a 1953/54 Lionel 2055 set that Santa got at J C Penneys back then.  My Aunt worked there and gave Santa her discount so I could have it for Christmas.

Good luck on finding your information.

That venerable department store chain is not spelled like the copper coin, but Penney.  Might that have hindered online searching?  -  al

Chief, JC Penney released a Lionel Limited Production loco for their Christmas Catalog and some years a special starter set for about a 10 year period ending a couple years ago. The offerings were all pretty nice except for the last locomotive produced. It was the yellow & blue AT&SF diesel, for whatever reason the front end was left off leaving an unfinished look just a big gap with a coupler protruding. JCP took a lot of heat over that, had to blow out the loco to get rid of it and apparently that ended the limited production program, nothing released since.

Don't worry, we are not into spelling here.  I think he was giving us a "helpful hint".  Keep on posting.
