gar-graves track

I cannot get solder to hold on the black middle rail of my gar-graves track.  Any suggestions?????

Your not the only one to fail doing that. Gargraves sells "L" shaped metal pieces so you can  get power to the track. A short one for the outside rail and a long one for the center rail. They are rather easy to attach as they just slip into the rail from below.

Hey if you build a yard using Gargraves track,, is it a "graveyard"?

If you take a small screwdriver and scrape away the black on the inside of the rail it will solder fine.

I use a dremil with either a small grinding wheel or wire brush to remove the black oxide.

Yep just a small file will do to remove the black oxide. Use a dab of rosin flux past sold at your ACO hardware store, this will lower the temp and time to solder. and your done! Just finished my golden spike yesterday....
