Is your layout naked?

Mine seems naked. Just table, track, wiring on the top side and no buildings. I do have that popular station from the 80s that I need to put 2 roof panels back on but really have no building on the layout at all.

Re: Is your layout naked?

Right now, yes, it's naked.  But this is progress and as I make more of it, we are getting ready to start scenery.  Once the control panel is up and running, I will start on mountains, tunnels, Topography things.  Then, come the buildings, roads, figures, etc.  One never really finishes though....we just get stagnant from time to time, then build another one.

Re: Is your layout naked?

No not totally...

I have started ballasting, and added a standing water area sans water, and vegetation.  I would say it's more dessert like.

I have harvested a few Sedum for trees... 'tis the season.  They are queued in a foam waiting area.

Laz....

All mine has is track and a few buildings set down from my previous layout.  No scenery yet.  After I get all the spurs and switches wired, and study some books/pictures more I hope to get going on the scenery.

Mine isn't naked but pretty minimalist when it comes to scenery. No ballast. Plenty of track. Some accessories and scenic items along the perimeter and in certain spots.

Re: Is your layout naked?

Not compared to what is was back in November when it was first set up as 50 years ago.  Just track on a bare 4x8 sheet of plywood.

Now it has Astro-turf, a few more accesories - passenger platform, automated milk car platform, block signal, & a  couple of crossing signals.  Sure looks naked compared to what I see posted around the internet, though.

Fortunaltely, I get help from my grandson via Lego buildings and people.  Also some vehicles from scales of 1:50 to 1:250 or so.

Hey, naked can be fun, too.

LOL!!! I wish!.... Well, my layout is in it's underwear right now, I have 2 stations, coaling tower, ford water tower, aircraft beacon, Lionelville brick building, and firehouse, and two houses and two switchtowers, yardoffice and oil pump, on it right now, and just grassmat and some free standing trees for scenery as of yet.

Re: Is your layout naked?

Pretty bare here. The track and switches are on bare plywood. There are some buildings, a very few accesories, a platform and a few other things but not a scenicing in sight. some day I hope...
