Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!

You  know I was thinking of skiping this one... but after reading all the events, 7 steam locos, and all the attactions, since I am only 40 minutes away I am going pack up the kids and attend. Maybe even more than one day....

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!

being a canuck, I spent 2 yrs in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 80's while in college/ univ.  LOVED it, so I feel qualified to reply to this thread.  I know nothing about the local train shows.  I do like the Red Wings- but that would be hockey.

go Calvin Knights !!!

Hey all you Buckeyes, and Spartans, and Wolverines.......You just all watch out for them Ducks! (Actually I am a Beavers and Syracuse fan!) Anyway, living in Portland does have it's advantages! Check out the attached link and you will see our contribution to the Festival. I am sure there will none there any prettier! Enjoy the trip to all those that are attending. I was going to take the train but the cost is a bit prohibitive as you will see in the link!

Hey LAZ, BUCKEYES and SPARTANS get along just fine. It's just that other school in Michigan that I have a problem with.

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!

Purchased admission tickets and the last train ride of the day of Friday.   The more I read about this festival, the more fantastic it seems.  Hope to do a side trip to Frankenmuth for chicken.

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!! Owosso Train Festival

I trust we will see some photos of the festival from those who attend? Traveling up isn't possible for me, although I was considering it.

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you John. I lost track of this thread. But to answer your question it is the Thomas E. Dewey that lost to Truman  but the Bradlee Van Pelt that played at Colorado State is the son of the late Brad Van Pelt of Michigan State, Consensus All American, Maxwell Award winner 1972 and 5 time all pro with the NY Giants. Both graduated from Owosso High.
