BUCKEYE, is it ok to go to Michigan in the summer? It's just in the fall that OHIO and Michigan don't get along?

July 24, 25 & 26. It's to raise $$ for the 1225 Perre Marquette Berk's Boiler Inspection next year. It's shaping up to be a really big show. First time here in Michigan.
7 steam locomotives.
Sign-ups to run an 0-4-0. Just you and an engineer.

Thanks Kurt and I think it is a great idea to charge those Hoosiers double the price. I would like to suggest that vehicles with NC license plates just be told that there is no room to park today and just move on down the road. (Buckeye's wear Scarlet and Gray.)

I was born and raised in Owosso. Home of Thomas E Dewey, James Oliver Curwood and the late great Brad Van Pelt. Small town. Not a lot of large hotels in the local area. Probably have to stay in Lansing (30 miles) or Flint ( 20 miles) if its more than a day trip. Have a great time. GO TROJANS!

I didn't think they were allowed that far north. If you make it north of Ann Abor, they'll get you comming back.

As long as we have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and credit cards, we get a free pass everytime. Needless to say, outside of ANNIE ARBOR, the natives are very friendly.

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!
You know being a MSU grad I notice the animosity was very low keyed between MSU and OSU... but go to a U of M game and Ohio State game... whew! look out!
Well when it comes to trains let us put down the hatchet....I am looking forward to the Owasso train outing...

What about people from Tennessee??? Hmmm, might not be a good idea to go up there.

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!
Glad to hear from a fellow Spartan. In the fall, I've three favorite Big 10 football teams - MSU and the two teams playing against Ohio State and the University of Michigan :)
The 1225 Berkshire used to be on static display at MSU. When I was in grade school, my parents would stop from time to time and let me climb around on it.
Later when I was going to MSU, I remember seeing some of the pistons and valves in storage in the basement of the Engineerig Building when disassembly for restoration started.
Still later, when I was living in East Lansing, the restoration was far enough along that they had the boiler certification. Very special homecoming game that year with the 1225's whistle adding to the celebration!
I live in Missouri now. A trip to Owasso in July won't work in this year :(

Buckeye is in kind of a tough position this week (at least at this point-Monday) with Mich St/Nort Caroliner being higher seeds in the NCCA tournament w/Michagan at the Buckeye heels. The good news is Indiana NIT and Purdue & Norhthern Iowa are in the first game on Thursday, GO PANTHERS--excellent small state U in northern IA.

Steve can you clarify the following? Thomas Dewey, the man who lost to Truman? Brad Van Pelt of Colorado State?

Re: Hey, Michigan guys !!!
I will be at the festival all day on Friday the 24th. I have a hour long train ride scheduled as well as an operating session for my son and I on Flag Coal # 75. This is not an annual event, truthfully it may never happen again.....don't miss it guys. If I can help out with directions or anything let me know.
