Sound in DC mode

 Hi.... Since I am a rookie in HO scale modeling I need ask all you railroad junkies out there. Can I run a KATO diesel locomotive that is DCC & sound ready combined with an Atlas QSI Quantun engineer in DC mode.

Yes,the Quantun engineer will operate the sound in DC the DCC decoder will automatically know its on DC track..

If you have a sound QSI system engine running on DC and no DCC , you blow the whistle or turn on bell using the directional switch on your power pack or add-on engineer control. This changes the current to your track and Non sound or DC only engines will reverse. The Qsi engine will continue to move forward not good. The Kato would need a Qsi system.
