How many of you have the 50th anniversary Athearn 40' box car?

I still have mine from 1984.  It is still in good condition and runs regularly with my Norfolk Southern manifest trains.

Ran across one at a train show about 10 years ago.  In perfect shape and I value it greatly.  Too bad we did not get a prototype of it like the last couple of anniversary cars!

I still have mine from 1984 as well.

However, I have long since switched to O / On30 BUT I keep it "for old time sake."

I was friends w/ hobbyshop opwner, and he saved it for me(!) He said he was shipped a very limited ninber at the time.

Re: How many of you have the 50th anniversary Athearn 40' box car?

Hi all, just joined the forum today but have been checking out the sites from time to time for a couple of years.

I found one yesterday in a local hobby shop in New Westminster BC.  Picked it up for a great price.  Kit is complete and in great shape with only a little rust on the metal floor weight that can be removed with some steel wool I think.
