Hello,
By now I hope you’ve had a little time to look around the forum and see the new features. Here are some tips for getting around the new forum...
First, if you already have a Trains.com forum screenname and had posted in the forum before the redesign yet receive a message (in a big yellow box) stating you need to register or unlock your old screenname, please log out on the right side of the page then login again. It should take care of the problem.
If you’d like to learn more about the new features and how they work, I have a few recommendations.
On our corporate site, Kalmbach.com, we’ve created a how-to guide for our newest forums, including the Trains.com reader forums. You can read Forum First Steps here.
In addition, our new forum software has a built-in Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section that answers many of the technical questions involving the forums. You can read the FAQ here.
Finally, from time-to-time we add forum tips or updates to the Community Assistance section of the forum. The Community Assistance section is found by going to the very top level of the Trains.com forums and scrolling down to the “Trains.com Forums” section. Within that section I’ve posted tips for how to post photos in our forum, how to make updates to your Trains.com account and magazine subscriptions, etc.
I hope you enjoy the new forum. I know change isn’t always easy, but I’m confident that after you get used to the subtle changes of the new forum that you’ll find the upgrade worthwhile.
If you encounter technical problems, please contact our Customer Service department and let them know the specific problem you’re encountering.
Thanks,
Erik Bergstrom
