Re: thomas the tank engine

I'm still not sure what you're lookng for--punctuation is your friend

Lionel made a thomas the tank engine in G scale years ago. They also made a James and some acessories--annie and clarabell, some freight cars. Then they discontinued it. They go now for a lot of money on Ebay--like 300 bucks. I'm not sure if they were remote controled--I think they were. They were never very well made to begin with.  My daughter loves Thomas, but I wasn't willing to spend 300 bucks

I made one out of a wooden pull toy I got on ebay. Hollowed out the wooden toy. Fitted a motor block from an old LGB Mogul into it, and it runs using an Aristo Train Engineer onboard receiver. I made some bumpers out of wood, and a couple whistles out of bits of brass and dowel

It was not an easy project--it's hard to convert the LGB blocks to remote control--the blocks are finicky and have a lot of parts. But now it runs very well and kids love it. It's not quite to scale--it's a little small

Wow, that looks pretty good! Even better than the Lionel version, if I do say so myself.
