I need help with an HO scale Bachmann GP30
OK, I just got off the phone with a guy in the parts department at Bachmann and he had no clue about anything HO scale. I need six complete sets of handrails for the Bachmann HO scale GP30 and all I had was the part number for the whole locomotive (#60808). I need a parts breakdown sheet that would come with a new locomotive. Does anybody have one that they could scan for me? Or just shoot me the part number for the handrails? Thanks.

I have one on my railroad, but Idon't think I have the parts sheet. I do have (or should have) the parts sheet for a Bachmann GP35, not sure if that'll help you. (the frame's the same, and the body is very similer.)

On my GP30, the handrails sorta curve w/ the body at the front and back, so I doubt if the GP35 would help, but then again, the GP35 could as well. Sorry, hammer, but I cut ties w/ bachmann as soon as I got really serious. IDK if you could find the answers on Bachmann's website.

If it's the pre-spectrum one, I've replaces the handrails on them with Atheran GP-35 handrails.

Thought I had it for you at hoseeker.net. you might browse that site. I found the part #s for the chassie, wheels, etc. but nothing on the handrails.

If worse comes to worse, I will use Athearn Stantions and make my own from .019 inch wire. I have done it before but wanted to avoid the hastle.

Hammer, If what you need is for a phase 1 GP30, the item number for the handrail package is 584034. But if you need the handrail package for the phase 2, it is 584226. EDIT: Hammer I screwed up.. These part numbers are for the Life-Like P2K GP30's. which should probably work for the Bachmann GP30. Dan

That's what I did with my Bachmann DD40X. That may be the better way to go, since the Bachmann railings are a little thick.

Hammer, The parts diagram for the Bachmann Spectrum GP30, that I have (Item No. 82049, Undec) does not show a separate part number for the handrails. It appears to packaged with the body shell (item No. 6020). Dan

Yup... just found that out. I had to order a complete shell for about 20 bucks just to get the handrails. If the handrails fit my shells I will order the other 3 that I need take the handrails off and sell the new shells on evil-bay.

Actually the newer ones are pretty thin with nice rivet detail.
