2-6-0 mining mogul

I just saw on St Aubin site they had  a bachmann 2-6-0 mining mogul for 89.99.  I looked on the bachmann site and noticed they dont have this one.  Is this a discontinued model.  I saw the the 2-6-0 mogul but much more money and a little different.  I ended up ordering it for that price.  It is the type of engine I have been looking for.  Everyone else was more money than I was willing to spend.  Any thoughts on the mining mogul?  Thanks

Re: 2-6-0 mining mogul

St. Aubins may sell the industrial mogul (aka "Indie") at that price but it doesn't mean they have any to sell. Its not discontinued but not currently in production. They may run it again in the future. Two years ago at ECLSTS they were selling them at close out pricing of $85. I wish I bought one at the time. Last year it was the Dizzie center cab diesels on close out special. This year the rail trucks were going for cheap.

The 2-6-0 mogul is a totally different loco from the indie. The mogul is a 1:20.3 Spectrum model. The Indie is from the 1:22.5 Big Hauler line. Nice little loco but not terribly powerful.

He is talking about the Indie, StAubins has them listed as "2-6-0 Mining Mogul" and they are still listed on bachmanns site if you try to order any engines from bachmanns site you get redirected to another site site that does have them listed for 200 each.

Its a good looking little, very little, engine, but its very light and doesnt pull much, its ok on level ground but abizmal on grades, it needs extra weight for any kind of grade.

Re: 2-6-0 mining mogul

They are no longer listed on the Bachmann site and I'm really suprised St. Aubins has them in stock. Someone must have found some in the back of the warehouse when cleaning up. They are being used for a MLS masterclass and the guys were looking for them on eBay a while back. $90 bucks is a decent price given the limitations of the loco. Add some weight and it will pull a couple of cars around the layout for you. Bachmann has 3 different styles of mining cars with diecast frames and metal wheels for less than $25 each that the Indie would look good pulling.

Same goes for the Yellow Pine Lumber version with a couple skeleton log cars and logging caboose... Looks like they got most of the same features as the Annie's too Shock [:O]

Dang it why did I have to go and look at that again lol

I just called and they said they dont have any and have not for a while.  i hate when things are listed on the web and they have no more.  Oh well it was worth a shot.  Guess i ahve to wait until winter to get another engine.  Unless something really come up for under a hundred.

Yes, I just called them too to order the loco and skeleton log cars and they are out of stock and no idea why they are still listed on the website.  They haven't had the locos for over a year.  St Aubin's needs to do a much better job of maintaining their website. Great disappointment.

It seems as though that is a common problem with a LOT of the on-line sources.
