Help with wood train set for a friend please!
Hi! My friend picked up this train table on craigslist. The mountain part apparently doesn't work and he emailed me these picks. We're hoping to ID this original table/mountain and find a replacement or parts for the mountain... Here are the pics I received:

The trains have been added by my friend and were not with the table when he got it. Thanks for any help!

Looks pretty cool. There's no type of labeling or imprints on the sides or bottom of the table top ? How about on the mountain itself bottom/inside ? What about on the blaster ?

Doug, I asked and he apparently didn't find anything. If we don't get some info in the next couple days, I'll go over to his house and take the mountain apart - it already doesn't work, right?

Thanks Guys - I spent a couple hours searching online for wooden trains with bridge, mountain, dynamite, waterfall, etc. No luck so far. I'll keep looking. Knowing it's Brio should help though - good info, thanks!

I agree the track is Brio, but I don't think the mountain is. The table looks like it may be Kidkraft and the mat looks like maybe Nilo. It's not a railroad mat. That bridge on the mountain has a different male connector for the track then Brio uses. Anyhow good luck with it. Ken

Toys R Us has its own brand of wooden trains called "Imaginarium". Could be that.
And if you have time to wade through this website fulll of wooden train links you might find the answer here:

Re: Help with wood train set for a friend please!
I'm pretty sure that the mountain is Brio. That ball-type male connector was used by Brio for joints where you might want to create an incline without using the standard incline pieces. Unfortunately, this is an older piece that I haven't seen in about 10 years now. Probably long since out of production, since a quick search of sites selling Brio & Thomas stuff doesn't have it. I remember seeing it 10 or so years ago when buying trains for my oldest, now 12. Haven't seen anything like it when shopping for his younger brothers. However, there is a lot of stuff out there... Thomas & Friends wooden railway, Brio, and Melissa & Doug is all interchangeable. We have an ecclectic mix of all of it. You can even buy risers which allow you to create an incline from your train table to the floor. Trust me, this is a VERY useful item!

Cool guys, thanks! I spent hours searching for it and have just been checking ebay for it since then. I told John D that I will come over and see if I can tinker with it. He thinks it "blows up" but I bet it just made a noise or something? Thanks for checking for me, Kurt - can't wait to hear what they say! Why didn't I think of that. Oh, while I was searching, I found this MO company with a cool deal -- the Little Engine that Could book with a matching wood train set! http://www.woodentrain.com/the-little-engine-that-could-specials.aspx

Sorry Brutus... From Brio Customer Service: "It is not something we can locate in the BRIO product catalogs we have available going back to 1979." Kurt
