Smoke with N scale

Is there any steam locomotives that have smoke with them that are in N scale?  Confused [%-)] Confused [%-)]

Re: Smoke with N scale

Previous posts have covered this, with the consensus being there are no currently available smoking steam engines in N scale (unless you have a bad short -- I managed to make one of my LED's in one of my passenger cars smoke pretty good the other night -- needless to say, I had to replace it), and if there were, you would probably not want to run them for various reasons (residue on tracks, smell, health issues with the smoke, etc.)

That being said, on another forum I came across this link:

http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/catalogue/fct/puffer.shtml

(Sorry I seem to be unable to make it a link) I got a kick out of checking out the site, but I do not have any immediate desire to try it myself. At best, the smoke would look like the wisp of a just blown out match, and not like the billowing clouds of the real thing.

Still, it might be fun to try it in just one of my steamers sometime

Eric, here's a live link:

I would think that those smoke units could melt the stack on a loco with a plastic boiler. Minitrix made some N scale steamers with diecast boilers that would be better candidates, but if smoke is a problem in HO, I don't even want to think about the pickup problems it would cause in N.

Some decoders can be converted into smoke units with little effort.Whistling [:-^]
