Buy the DC (non-sound) version and add a Tsunami.  I would AVOID the MRC decoder.

Buy the ready for DCC version and install a quality decoder yourself.

I don't think this is a bash MRC thread.  I would also say stay away from MRC decoders, because of the problems with the decoders.  This is a problem for me because I like Athearn locomotives, and they have some with sound that I would like to own.  Too many problems reported with the MRC sound decoders.  Lets hope they improve.

I have no information regarding MRC DCC, but if someone wanted a quality DC power pack I would highly recommend MRC.  I have purchased several when I ran DC. A few years ago I purchased a train set for my nephew.  The set had an inexpensive power pack, but I also purchased a nice mid-level MRC power pack for him.
