Williams semi scale berkshire size

Does anyone know how a Williams semi scale berkshire compares in scale to MTH Railking steamers? I have a Lionel Polar Express berk that is undersized compared to Railkings. Is the Williams berk the same as the PE berk or larger? Thanks in advance.

The body of the Williams Berkshire is an exact copy of the 1946 Lionel Berkshire. All die-cast engine and tender. Inside is the modern "can motor". Engine and Tender is 21 inches long as is the Lionel. I have both a Lionel '46 and a Williams Berk in New Haven paint.

Yes, the "Polar" Berk is smaller with more plastic.

Not sure what the number is on the Berkshire but I have an S-2 # 671 by Williams and it is the same size as the post war Lionel it is copied from.

The Williams berk. is a little larger than the Polar Express berk., but is not scale. Railking steamers seem to be all over the board as far as scale and compression goes, so you pretty much need to see a Williams berk. and determine for yourself if it will look okay with Railking steamers.

Regardless of size, the Williams Berk is nice looking,well proportioned and runs very well.I have had one for five years and have had no problems.

I have no problems with the Williams locomotives that I bought compared to other brands. The Williams S-2 has plenty of puilling power for a medium size steam loco, and the tender has True Blast 2 horn & bell sounds in it, the loco has smoke and for only $200.00 from my Williams dealer it was a terrific bargain!
