Well, id I don't sharpen it, it'll be UNDERsharpened. And guess what, still no appeal back. If I don't get it tommrow I'm appealing again, and then again. And if I still don't get and appeal I'll re-send them in, and apeal them again? What's the use you might ask? Well, they DID get into RP, and now they booted em'. Well, atleast one vid is up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePSVYr3z2JU EDIT: And now number two is up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDtZnb81Ymo

Go you "My Forums" and if you look on the top bar above you list of your replys and posts, there should be a tab that says "Private Messages", click that and your PMs should show up. BTW: Forgot to mention that the second vid has a very errie scilence at the end.

Jordan, when I've appealed in the past it has taken up to two days for them to get back to me, and I have been successful in appealing twice. Of course there were many times where they rejected the appeal as well. I got a photo rejected for bad filename but I could see the photo so I appealed it and it was accepted. Actually it was a good train as well, a EMDX GP38-2 with a bluebonnet GP9R behind it. In any case they rejected the IC I just posted for cropping, I posted the queued image. The EJ&E bridge shot got cropping again as well. I might as well crop them both a bit more since I have nothing better to do right now. By the way that is a pretty weird silence at the end of that second video!

Hummm, alright. The last appeal I did though got sent right away. Yes, that is a very weird silence at the end. Consistant rolling, and the screaching of brakes, then, NOTHING.

This short, 2 mile railroad is hard to get up there, and is even harder to get anywhere else. The Tomahawk Railway. It seems as though one of the 3 TR SW1500s has come down for maintenance. I found the number weird, 1587; I thought TR only has 8X, not 158X.

GAHHH!!! More ultimate than you think! TR 1587 is famous among us CNW fans. This unit once was CNW 1301, the ONLY SW1500 that CNW ever rostered! It's all right here on Don strack's utahrails.net: Don Strack wrote: | | EMD SW1500 — 1 unit B-B; 12-645E engine; 62:15 gear ratio; 1,500 horsepower; 199,000 pounds operating weight Road Number | First Number | Builder Date | Builder Number | Date Retired | Notes | | 1301 | MTFR 300 | Jul 1967 | 33180 | 3 Jul 1985 | 1. | General Notes: | a. | C&NW 1301 built as Minnesota Transfer 300, leased to C&NW during June 1972, purchased by C&NW on 11 January 1973. | | b. | EMD order number 4515. | Notes: | 1. | Sold to National Railway Equipment Co., Dixmoor, Ill., December 1985; resold February 1987 to Marinette, Tomahawk & Western Railroad 1587, Tomahawk, Wis.; now Tomahawk Railway, same location. |

Very interesting info Atmo! Now I wonder where TR 83 came from! More pictures. I had to take a little hike through a slot of woods; very brushy. So this would be a different angle. The 2 SD40-2s where no where to be found, but at least I got a not half bad roster shot of TR 1587.
Looks like her stand in will be I&M 43. Which I'm guessing is this locomotive. So maybe I'll get her today, or tommrow, or when ever she comes up. http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php EDIT: This is mainly to Robby. But TR 1587 is heading to Buffalo, so anyone on the CN main could have a chance to get her. don't know when she's leaving, but will most likely get to Chicago tommrow.

Today was a very intersting day on the EJ&E! I was at the crossing in Crest Hill near West Bridge Junction. a EJ&E train was approaching eastbound, the crossing activated and the gates started lowering. Then I heard a truck floor it behind me then there was a unbelivably loud crashing sound. I turned around and the crossing gate was completely gone! The truck took the gate out so badly it knocked the entire gate clean off the crossing, nothing was left even hanging. They replaced the gate in only about 10 minutes, so they did a great job with that. Oh, did I mention EJ&E 666 was the leader of the train, coincidence? Unfortunatly it was the one time I didn't have both cameras so no video except for a short clip of them installing the new gate. Lucky I wasn't standing on the sidewalk side of the crossing because the gate came crashing down right where I usually stand! ![Shock [:O]](/emoticons/icon_smile_shock.gif) I'll have to try keeping tabs on the TR engine, but if it doesn't come in my tommorow I'll be in Nevada when it comes. Too bad it isn't being repaired at Dixmoor. Also EJ&E's only GP38-2, 703 is for some reason working locals out of Joliet Yard! I'd love to finally get to see the 703 and not have to drive two hours to Waukegan. It has been having oil leakage problems.

Guess what? I DID get a photo of his plates!!! There were EJ&E workers there working on the crossing so they stopped him and they weren't too thrilled, they even had the EJ&E police come out. He tried blaming it on EJ&E because they had a flagger flagging people across the crossing, but that doesn't mean drive into a gate! The photos of his plates probably won't be needed because EJ&E handled the situation well. This is what the end result was though, taken less than a minute after the incident. I normally stand right to the left of where the gate landed, so it would've just missed me! Jordan, maybe EJ&E 666 isn't good to be around after all, I still say what are the odds that it was a engine numbered 666 that was coming when this happened. The funny thing is the workers there wanted me to keep them informed on trains coming through, and two UPs and a BNSF did come through as well as the EJ&E 666. Also, here is a video of them fixing the gate, the workers were being pretty sarcastic as you can see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l758X4GCFv4

Well, I had one heck of a great day today! My morning began with a tip that the WSOR was still in town and would be making a rare run in daylight through the Badger Army Ammunition Plant near Sauk city and down the former Milwaukee Road Sauk banch to deliver a load of fertilizer. Better yet, the power was a pair of ex-Milwaukee MP15ACs! Three rare things in one go; a daylight southbound on the Reedsburg sub, a run down the Sauk banch, and a pair of MP15s to do the work. Originally this only made me angry, as I had to go into work this morning. Oh well I figured, you can't win them all. But I got out at 11:30 to find a message from a friend that they were waiting for the hopper to be unloaded and it would be quite a while yet before they left the co-op. I could still make a go at this thing yet! I headed down after lunch, and while I didn't get them at the co-op (they apparently abandoned waiting for the car to be unloaded, as the car was still there), I did get them coming out of the BAAP on the ex CNW branch into the area. So maybe it wasn't the sauk branch, but it was still a rarely used stretch of trackage. From there I chased them south back towards Madison, and managed a bunch of roll bys between Merrimac and Waunakee, including several shots I've been wanting to do for quite some time. It was well worth the 110 miles worth of gas I spent! I might have pictures up tonight, but then again I might not. I leave tomorrow morning for a trip to Milwaukee (mainly to check out UW Milwaukee as well as take in a Brewers game, but also for a little railfanning). If I don't get the pictures processed tonight, I should have them done Saturday afternoon or Sunday when I get back. If they look as good on the computer screen as they did through the view finder, it'll be a great day indeed! Okay, enough of my endless blabbering... Wow, Robby, I can't say I've ever seen something quite like that before! I've seen the aftermath of a grade crossing signal being tipped over, but never the actual incident... Noah

Yeah it was interesting to see for sure, but not fun for any of the EJ&E workers that were there when it happened. In any case here are photos from today. EJ&E 666 comes into Crest Hill.
Here is 666 right before the loud bang and the crossing gate going flying, the crew of this train saw it all!
Another view of the damage, the gate was wiped clean off the crossing as you can see here.
Next up was a BNSF train, here it is passing the accident site. The new gate is wiring up already and ready to be assembled.
Less than a hour after the old gate got knocked off, the maintainer finishes assembling the new gate.
Next up was a UP eastbound coal train, passing one of the famous EJ&E cops! That is a spiffy looking cop car if you ask me!
As soon as the eastbound clears, a westbound UP empty coal train gets underway, he picked up some orders right at Crest Hill.
It was for sure one interesting day, but also a extremely busy one!
