Carlin Nevada

Hey all I will be traveling to Carlin, Nevada "flying out" in late October early November. Are there any good locations to watch UP in or around the area? I was told there are tunnels east and west of town? What weather conditions can I expect to incounter while there? This time of the year. I know the elevation is around 5000 feet.  About how many trains travel throguh Carlin in 24 hrs? Any suggestions and help will be appreciated. Any locals in the area? Thanks Denny

Re: Carlin Nevada

The tunnels are east of town.  Weather can be hit or miss 30-60 degrees and a good chance of wind.  As for trains I'm gonna guess here and say 20-30.  There are yard's in Elko and Winnemucca.  I live in Winnemucca if you get this before you leave e-mail me dcsunderland@yahoo.com.
