UP 844 on the Frontier Days Train (Pix Heavy)

Just some shots from the 2007 edition of the Cheyenne Frontier Days train. Would've liked a couple more "action" shots, but the 844 crew wasted no time while out on the line. While I didn't get a lot of shots because of that, the sight of 844 running at 60+ MPH made up for it! Too cool!

Sorry so picture heavy...it was a fun trip, and I had to show it off a bit!

Great pics!! I wish I could have made it up there.

I am really looking forward to the state fair. That should be a nice run on the joint line.

....That's quite a variety Chris....Those black and whites sure are nice when imaging certain subjects.

Thanks for sharing.

Pic. heavy post is no problem with a cable connection....pops up in about the same time as a couple of written paragraphs.  But I'm aware of what it can be  as I used dial up for years until the wife gave me the "word" to make the change.

I am in awe of your talents, Chris!

Think you could bring that 16-wheeled photo prop (and its tender) with you next time you come our way?

YEAH, BUDDY!!Sign - Ditto [#ditto]

You're right  about them covering ground with 844, got a couple of shots of her in some curves north of Coffeyville, on the last swing north.

They do not baby that engine, she works great, and makes a good show in the bargain! Cool [8D]

Re: UP 844 on the Frontier Days Train (Pix Heavy)

Thanks as always for the really nice comments everyone. I love being able to share this stuff with you guys.

Smitty - Can't wait until the state fair. By the way, after talking to Lynn Nystrom, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for 3985 to show up there as planned. It sounds like 844 will get the call again (which is fine by me...844 has to be my favorite steamer on the rails today!)

Carl - I'll see what I can do. Might be a little rough getting it packed in my carry-on though! Wink [;)] (Seriously, though...I would really love to see her run in the winter some time. Can't beat a steam locomotive on a cold day!)

Thanks again everybody!
