  • David - I saw your post about website loading speed on the MRR Forum, it is running a little faster without the ads, but not by much.

I thought I'd run an idea past you which might improve speed, I dabble a liitle in web design but am not an expert by any means so you've probably already thought of it and ruled it out - but here goes:

Throughout the whole Trains.com site I notice the nav bar at the top of the screen is part of each page, not a seperate frame, and therefore reloads every time you refre***he screen or move around in the site. I know that there has been a movement amongst web designers away from frame built pages because if not done properly they can be really irritating, but in this instance loading only once when you login would really help the speed of the site because the nav bar is very graphic orientated. If you wanted you could run a script that reloads the nav bar every so often to change the ads.
  • Hey Willy2,

That is because in your profile, where it asks "Show on Active Users: " (located under the Country list), you have selected No. What this means is that in the places where it displays who is currently online, if you selected No, it will not display your name.

    Hope that helps.

  • Not only is it faster, but I'm not getting the annoying "scripts" message every time I switch pages.
