  • I am about to set up my ranching area I was wondering how many cattle fit in a cattle car? Having this would help to set up how big my  cattle holding area is .

  •   How big is a cow, and does it have horns  These are all factors if loading cattle in a railroad cattle car or a cattle truck.  Typical railroad stock cars have a 30 ton capacity, and with big 1500 lb steers, that is about 40 animals.  Those long Wison cattle trailers you see on the hwy are 44' long by 8'6" wide.  Most shipping guides indicate 27-40 animals(depending on weight and if they have exposed horns).
