OK, where did you hide it?

  • New look, I see.  Now, where is the "New Posts" search option? It was in the old forum but I haven't been able to find it in this one yet.

Forum front page (http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/), right hand margin - under "Active" (Old "Active Topics") and "My Discussions" (Old "My Topics").

  • I see that, but it only shows the last 10 active topics. Seeing that I usually visit this site only once a day, what about the last 24 hours worth?

There seems to be a link labelled "Topix Not Read" on the same main page, same right margin. That link leads to http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/TopicsNotRead.aspx?ForumID=-1

It seems likely that this is intended to be a "Show unread topics", hopefully sorted in a newest to oldest fashion by default. It does not appear to be working yet - I get an error message when I try it. It says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

But apparenty Kalmbach is working on providing the solution you are looking for. I suggest you either wait and see while doing the same as I am doing - look around and click on various links to go explore the new web site, or that you read the message from Bergie above all the sections and contact Kalmbach customer service with any problems you may still have.

Good luck in figuring out the new interface - I still think it in most ways feels more flashy and less user friendly than the old user interface, but it seems to slowly be improving as they fix the worst bugs and I get more used to it.

  • OK,  I figured it out.

You chick on "Posts you have not read" in the "Shortcuts" column and then select "newer then 1 day" in the righthand box.

I tried selecting "new since your last visit" but it showed the same number of posts as the "show all" selection.
