might it have a reason why Trainz2006 is SO cheap at those chains? (MSTS1 is cheap too, but way older! and there are LOADS of good add ons available for MSTS)
I know from a lot of people that expected physics / reality / serious gameplay still are simulating around with MSTS1 and are pretty happy about it. The available add ons make the platform MSTS1 coming really alive!
Trainz 2006 is GREAT if you don't have the place available for a model railroad... But not if you're a serious railroader (or realroader?)

From one of the blogs:
Sorry it's been so long since my last post but there's been a lot happening. Nonetheless I thought you'd like to hear about what I'm up to this week. I'm in Leipzig, Germany at the massive Game Conference--the biggest is Europe--meeting with journalists to discuss Train Simulator 2. Despite the conspiracy theorists that claim we're not really working on it I've been talking to press and showing screens and videos from the game. Each one walked away with a DVD of content so hopefully you'll start seeing examples of TS2 on the web really soon.
In fact I'm in between press meetings now, which run every 30 minutes from 0900 to 2000! It makes for a very long day. Nonetheless the facilities are superb and the German staff has been amazingly accomodating. I'll try to share more when I have time. But for now, I've got more journalists to amaze...

As long they put in American Steam Im going to be happy.
Check out page three of that forum and see how the wheels are not yet correct on the engine. They are rotated 90 degrees against the track direction.
I'm impressed with the train selection already. Looks like the Dash 9-44CW returns. And one of the screenshots has an NS train passing through an Amtrak station...so I assume there'll be some Amtrak trains in the game as well. It's looking good, the level of detail is much better than in Trainz. When I saw the first few screenshots, I thought they were real photographs!
That's good. I have tried FSX and the game was excellent (I crashed). I just hope it's out soon.
Anyone got screenshots?

An "expensive model collector"
A very small update has finally been made to the MSTS2 websitehttp://www.tsinsider.com/en-US/Pages/default.aspx
I sure hope they release more information soon. This suspense is terrible!
