Wow!

  • What a difference three buildings, four figures, some bushes, and a pair of railroad crossings makes! For a good two or three months, my little 2x4 N scale Layout had just a church (which I will make into a fire scene) and a general store! I went to an Austin Hobby Lobby and picked a Model Power post office/bank combo and a Model Power trucking headquarters. It was a pain in the butt tryin to wire it all up though. Since my layout is just a platform (no legs) I had to tilt it to make the connection. On top of that I had to two holes for the wires to go under the layout (without a power drill). That was fun. The bank and po are side by side and I plan to get some WS fine ballast or dirt and make an ally back behind the two for employee vehicles. I am gonna make a "paved" parking lot for the trucking business and another "paved" lot for the rigs in the back. The railroad crossings are made from the thin cardboard packaging that came with the buildings. To hide the gaps tween the cardboard and the top of the wood, I "planted" some bushes made from WS poly fiber. All that is left for now is to "pave" the road with some good ole gray or black duct tape. (Hey, it may be cheap, but if you do it right, it looks good.)

  • I knew it would look good, but after I stepped back, my jaw dropped. However, I have yet to get the duct tape. LOL

  • YES!!! The king of procrastination has returned, and to answer your questions...........I FINALLY GOT THE TAPE! I bought some duct tape (for old pavement) and some electrical tape (for new asphalt). I got to say that it turned out perty darn good.
