  • Great picture! Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey thats cool!! I'm guessing the unit shown is a SD50. When I lived in Philadelphia I used to do some railfaning allong the line in Lansdale. Unfortunitly, there isn't that much to see in terms of run through mainline traffic, considering the fact that the little CSX terminal is along a branch line. It used to go all the way up to Bethlehem, PA when the Reading owned it.

Here are some pics I took in Lansdale when they had a miniture derailment back in 2005. The first pic is of a SD50 just sitting out at idle.

This pic is of the mini derailment Lansdale had in 2005, there is a SD40-2 shown here attempting to pull a boxcar back on track.

  • Yeah, nice pics, especially like the LHF one at the end, sweet. Though i'm from Manitoba, Canada and have never seen a CSX train ever, lol. Though we do have 1 BNSF GP9 (Torpedo Boat) that runs from the U.S to here, and a small yard near Fort Rouge.

  • When was that GP9 painted? It looks fairly new, why doen't it have the "Swoosh"?

  • Yeah, there is a passenger style GP9 high-hooder in Winnipeg, never seen it, but this summer on my railfan excursions i will probably photo and video it.

Actually, that is a pair of ex-Conrail SD40-2's. They are similar to the SD40-2 in your second photo. Note the rear plow on 8868, a Conrail trademark.

  • How'd it get so clean?
