  • Brent:

    Turn off you flash.

Don't take pictures of trains when there's stuff  in the way

Oh, and let the train fill the frame more.

    That is all.

Go here for my rail shots! http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?userid=9296

  • well i managed to get a few shots today

saw 1 Train on the CP & i could of had more of the cp but im lucky i saw this one since i was on my way to waukesha to see the hobby store & i looked when we crossed & i seen a train in the distance & i had pulled over & got the shot i am working on cropping the pic to see if rp will take it since it look good.

Up at Duplainville i see a Short Train on the Siding & i had no idea about it i figured it may be the Local for Sussex & i noticed their was no crew aboard IC SD40-3 6114 & IC GP38-2 was in charge & a first seein a IC GP38-2 for me & it was Repainted.

Unfortunatly their were no CP trains for me in duplainville but CN A447 did cross the diamond

i just made it to fond du lac before dark & managed some shots

CN 7402 & WC 1565 i thought 1565 was in cn paint but its still in the best paint it can be in & i noticed Wisconsin Central was re applied on the side

WC 3017 kinda a blurry shot but its another good GP40 in WC  Paint

    CN 9547

WC 3010 was leading 412 tonight

ON my way home going over the tracks on Hwy 45 i saw a Train goin under us & the dispatcher called a few trains & their were tryin to get 2 trains on the siding & 1 was the 410 & the one that i payed the most attention to was 522 beacuse WC 3023 was on it. unfortunatly it was too dark out.

thats all i got hopefully new years eve ill head out to point

  • And we work together also, they repaint our equipment, we loan some to them in the winter, nice people.

  • Jordan, good to hear you are having a nice time out there.

I've heard nothing but good things about LSRM. LSRM and Green Bay are two more museums I have on my list to visit.

  • Hey guys. haven't talked to ya in a long time. We finaly got the internet up here. Anyway as of right now I'm in Breckenridge Colorado haveing a fun Christmas break. We're leaving tommrow so..... Anyway While I was out here I got to go to Moffet Tunnel that was pretty cool. I should have the pics up 2 days from now. If you would like to see some moutain scenery (With out trains) send me an Email or PM. I've also done some Snow Boarding. That was pretty fun. I didn't venture up to the Black Dimionds up at Peak 7, 8, 9, and 10. But I did hit some blue runs. Well I haven't been able to few the 2 pages I missed yet. So have a Merry Christmas, a late one, and a happy new year.
  • Nope it wears North Shore Scenic Railroad Paint, a green strip above the windows and zebra stripes on the ends. It will most likely never be restored to its original paint because it isn't owned by the Museum but by the St. Louis and Lake Counties Regional Railroad Authority, the organization whom owns the Lake Front Line,  museums excursion line. The NSSR 9169 is lent to whom ever the operator of the line is. In this case it is the LSRM but who knows that could change. So as long as it stays where it is it will be NSSR 9169, BUT it is the OLDEST operating RDC in the world.

It's this "Magic Snow" stuff, you just add water and it soaks it up and expands to about 4 times it's origanal size!

Guilford Guy's snow looks WAAAYYY better!

  • is it to be restored to CNW?

  • Atmo, on a note you may find interesting, our BUDD Car #9169 was purchased from the RBM&N (90% sure, may have been Great Smokey Mountain) and is ex C&NW.

  • why thank you, noah. i edited my post cuz i didnt need to accuse anyone of something i dont know they're guilty of yet.

WCL, dont pick on me. you dont have a reason to, and we dont need more arguing. and FYI, i only saw "Cars" ONCE!

well i have been looking for a new road to enjoy and follow, and i think i may have found one that really hit home for me.

it's pretty far from where i am, but it's a great road. i love it. it is the "Reading, Blue Mountain, and Northern Railroad".

RBMN has such a nice roster of power. a fleet with variety and the bigger 6-axle stuff i do so enjoy:

this is RBMN 3054, once a proud CNW, it now sees a new enjoyable life on the Reading and Northern. obviously my favorite unit on the fleet, but their SD50s are quite nice too.

some day, i intend to fan this road out east..then maybe get some NS shots too. and visit the REAL Altoona. the yard Altoona, WI was named after. Altoona, PA.

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • Ya know Atmo, I think I prefered your original version of your post to the edited one. Mainly because it was saddly true...

I actually thought the card was funny, though perhaps a tad odd. I guess I wouldn't have thought of putting a Santa Hat on locomotive....

Thanks for the compliments on the card too guys. I'd been wanting to do a christmas card for the last few years, but I never had a good photo. This one fell into my lap (though I guess I did have to work a little on the composition and exposure, but other than that). Hopefully next year's will come just as easy!

Neat shot Tyler. What's the snow effect? Cotton or something like that?
