Lionel collector, stuck in an N scaler's modelling space.
Just to let everyone here know, we are starting a new teen railfan place for 2008, since this one is over 80 pages. If you can, please post at the new one.
Thanks!
happy new year!?!?!
I cant decide if the new year is going to be happy yet....
so my christmas was AWESOME! I got a bunch of Athearn kits, athearn SD 40 Snoot (wtf does that mean, i dont know) KATO Fp 45 amtrak along with 2 commuter cars. and KATO GE AC 4400 (i think thats what it is) BNSF. and pashe dual action airbrush!
_______ new year! (you decide)
Both Christmas and New Years were excellent here. Speaking of that, welcome to 2008! Happy New Year!
I ended 2007 on a good note with a Conrail led manifest on the BNSF and a EJ&E train. The first day of 2008 was another good railfanning day with two Amtrak trains kicking up snow along with BNSF and Metra trains kicking up snow. Pics probably coming tommorow.
thanks for the info on the boppers.
as for 7495, i'm in no hurry to see it run again anyway. if it remains a static display, i can still walk around on the walkways etc and check out the insides. display or operational, both are nice.
the bi levels are what i REALLY need to see again. maybe on the pizza train. i remember when it was the little caesars pizza train, but changed when LC closed down. but now that a new one has opened, i hope it will be the pizza on the train
Little caesars on a CNW bi-level. one of the many things i consider "paradise"
Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

Those are BN BOPPER yes that's right BOPPER cars. They were built for dual service of a hopper and a boxcar in one. They are aluminum with steal frames and had hydraulic floors that would shake the grain or whatever to the center of the car where it was unloaded. Out of the 30 some built only the 3 that we have still exist. Their power car ( a boxcar with a power plant in it) has been rebuilt to provide 330 kilowatts of HEP power to our passenger cars. That SD45 is the last NP one in existence but don't get too excited, it probably won't run for a while because it had its generator and micro-processor removed years before it came to us. In order to run again the whole hood has to come off. BUT on a happier note 2 of our 3 bi-levels have been repainted back to CNW colors although only two are on the property.
I think it is a streak of violence... that I know of he dose not hate the hobbie...I don't know.
There are some stupid people out there....
You know if we just got rid of all the caution and warnings singhs and stickers all the morons idiots and stupid people would be wiped out within days maybe months lol.

This is completly random but when you say "I am the only railfan at my school" I know how you feel I am in the same situation. Except one kid who... I wouldn't say likes to "model" but instead likes to set up several pecies of O scale straight track on the edge of a table and likes to "drive" them full speed off this table onto a concrete floor... it P***es me off . yup sorry that was my rant for the day.
