  • And we work together also, they repaint our equipment, we loan some to them in the winter, nice people.

  • well i managed to get a few shots today

saw 1 Train on the CP & i could of had more of the cp but im lucky i saw this one since i was on my way to waukesha to see the hobby store & i looked when we crossed & i seen a train in the distance & i had pulled over & got the shot i am working on cropping the pic to see if rp will take it since it look good.

Up at Duplainville i see a Short Train on the Siding & i had no idea about it i figured it may be the Local for Sussex & i noticed their was no crew aboard IC SD40-3 6114 & IC GP38-2 was in charge & a first seein a IC GP38-2 for me & it was Repainted.

Unfortunatly their were no CP trains for me in duplainville but CN A447 did cross the diamond

i just made it to fond du lac before dark & managed some shots

CN 7402 & WC 1565 i thought 1565 was in cn paint but its still in the best paint it can be in & i noticed Wisconsin Central was re applied on the side

WC 3017 kinda a blurry shot but its another good GP40 in WC  Paint

    CN 9547

WC 3010 was leading 412 tonight

ON my way home going over the tracks on Hwy 45 i saw a Train goin under us & the dispatcher called a few trains & their were tryin to get 2 trains on the siding & 1 was the 410 & the one that i payed the most attention to was 522 beacuse WC 3023 was on it. unfortunatly it was too dark out.

thats all i got hopefully new years eve ill head out to point

  • Brent:

    Turn off you flash.

Don't take pictures of trains when there's stuff  in the way

Oh, and let the train fill the frame more.

    That is all.

    Pretty nice out there eh?

  • Man this is the Biggest Lame Rejection excuse i ever heard

Poor Esthetic Quality: This rejection reason means that the photo is of low esthetic qualities, or is simply not the type of material we are wishing to publish.

  • Well....

Do you want me to tell you what's wrong with it?

  • Jordan, you don't want to know how ugly 3023 looks in CN paint. It looks even worse then the IC 1039, and 1039, the only repainted IC SD70, is pretty ugly. 3023 now looks no different then any other CN geep. They even replaced the numberboards with CN style ones. Other then the small WC under the cab, it is hard to tell it was ever owned by WC. It is good that it isn't in the deadline, but I would've rather had it stay in WC paint. 3023's first runs in CN paint were on the Illinois Santa train on the old IC mainline.

Yup! We went in the early spring/late winter, so it was warm, and not crowded at all!Smile [:)]

  • Ya, Brent, remember the Railpictures forums? You need to realise you still have a lot to learn in the photography department, your shots arent amazing. Quit whining about it and go practice some more. And first of all, its way to underexposed, among other things.

If you actually want to be a good photographer, try to LEARN things from other people, like Matt for instance. Its not very hard if you think things out before you take the shot. The black&white cloudy trick doesnt always work, and isn't usually that appealing.

  • well i got some more shots this week.

before work, i headed for Altoona. it's always best to check the yard out in the morning, because trains usually havent left yet. not till 9:00 AM often

    and i was right:

one of the units in this consist, UP 2978, was an SD40-2 i had been after for a while. now that i have it, i have a picture of every UP 297X still in operation today (2970 was wrecked a few years ago. few have pictures of it)

of course with that good news came bad news. 3042, UP's "rolling insult", was in tow. i hate that machine. at least until it finally gets painted.

second, we have LTS61 getting ready to leave:

3077 looks nice with a Z stripe. now it just needs a flag :P

with the 297Xs completed, i now realize i'm getting pretty close to seeing all of the SD40-2s in UP's Wisconsin fleet (the 29XXs and the 30XXs).

as for CNW i've seen lately, i had some good luck here too. with every last locomotive wiped off the face of the earth, i rely on rolling stock. and i get quite a bit of it too. but this week brought some less common stuff:

the 437XXX hoppers aren't as common. and this train had 2 of them. here's the other:

    finally a good day.

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • Nice shots Atmo,

was the 1 way at the end a Patched CNW? by the looks thats what it looked like. i seen some of them CNW Hoppers sitting butler yesterday when i was on my way home & some them yellow CNW hoppers.

Alec well you been taking pictures longer then i have so dont expect mine to look like the standards you wish for. im only in my first year & my camera sucks sincs its only a 4.1 MP. & at leats i enjoy watching & taking pictures of traisn instead of some people who all they care about how good the picture of it is.
