well i went to the national show it was great i my dad and i bought one of thoes rr in a box kits so were going to make a on30 railroad on it.
im starting to bulid with brass so im making an on30 tank car for my new layout.

Noah, nice shots from a place I am very familiar. The funny thing is one time when I was in the Dells, I found that spot on accident and I have been going there ever since to get photos of trains crossing the river.
A CP train with two AC4400CWs crossing the river. These are the most common finds, but they still make for a neat photo!

Robby - VERY good pictures! That's a very nice spot you have there, better than any bridges we have in Calgary IMO!
There's pretty much only one bridge around here that's worth speaking of, and good angles are hard to get - I should know as I've taken them all! (Most not in the best lighting, but oh well...)
(Sorry about the first, second last, and last ones, the first was with a push-processing experiment and the last two are with my currently dying camera with terrible lighting which is impossible to get better than)

Robby, nice photos of the Dells River bridge. Your photos on railpicky were one of the places that I first saw the morning bridge shots (though I had heard there was a good shot there before, just never saw photos). It's sad though, I live 20 minutes away and I've only been there for the morning shot once so far. I finally crossed the afternoon river bridge shot off my list to do too on Tuesday afternoon with number 7, the westbound Empire Builder:

The afternoon shot (in my opinion anyway), isn't quite as good as the morning shot, but it's still okay. At least I can say I've done it once now. Wish the utility would move those wires though...
Matt, those are some neat shots still, though it would be nice if the light were to be better. I've got a couple of shots like that though, where the light is never really good, but otherwise it's a nice shot. Like this one, south of La Crosse, WI:

Good timing with the Duck going under the Amtrak! I wish they would move those darn wires also! I'm hoping to sneak up to the Dells one more time this summer, and if I can't make it this summer, I'll probably be these a few more times this year. I'd come up to see the CP 2816 and do a shot similar to the 261 shot but I'll be riding on it the Saturday of Labor Day weekend from Franklin Park to Sturtevant and back. Now, here is a photo for all of you WC fans on here of a rare occurance of a WC leading on the IC.

Well, we haven't had any steam here in the Chicago area in over 3 years, so it is nice to know they are finally running steam around Chicago for 3 days. I have seen the 261 plus the Chinese QJs at Rock Island.
Nice photo's guys. EJE818, like the WC photo. Well today I caught the SB to Stevens Point. The lead loco (6934) had an odd horn. It was low pitched, but when let off the air it got high pitched. She was leading IC SD40-2 6016, I got a photo of her sister engine last week in Wausau. I also got a picture of 9634s sister 2 weeks ago. 6935 was switching in the yard. Anyway these photo basicaly shows how closely Old Hwy 51 follows along the tracks. It does this from Weston-Mosinee.

I went to Steamtown for RailCamp and I was nothing but impressed.
WCfan, I don't mind seeing IC, WC, and GTW engines. I especially like the IC SD70s. Not only are they neat engines, some of them still have their neat sounding IC horns. I have also seen 7 different DM&IR engines, 6 of which were in active service. I remember back in 2005 when I saw my first DM&IR, and as an added bonus I got to see it move. It was SD38-2 209. Ever since, the engine has been parted out and its motor went to a CN engine. I am wondering why there have been so many WC GP40-2s and GP40s lately. Before last May, I had only seen one. Ever since, I have seen 5 of them. I have seen the Map engine twice. Seems that these WC engines have been on locals and in yard service lately. The GTW and IC engines also seem to be GPs quite frequntly. In any case, there has been quite a rainbow of power on the old IC lately.
