  • really? even if you did, where would you put the thing? is there even room left in Duluth's museum. hmm that reminds me. i miss DM&IR too. at any rate, what does CN intend to replace the SD45s with? the GEVOS which were proven to be unable to tow heavy loads? i would hope that they use EMD's new units. i'm sick of GE and their polluting machines

  • The grey SD40-3's that are stenciled WC are the SD45 killers. Plus CN already has several new units running around already.

GOD NO!!! The CN WILL NOT be getting rid of (they may repaint some) DMIR's units because DMIR uses a type of braking called straight air in addition to train air. The only units with straight air are DMIR units, therefore CN COULD NOT bring CN units in.

    Sincerely, DMIR Junky haha

  • Oh, I reread your post, and when you refered to DMIR, I thought the question was about DMIR and you accidently put SD45 instaed of SD45T-2's, or in the case of DMIR, SD40-3's. My bad.

  • no problem. i just hope an SD45 from WC will find its way to a musuem. surely Duluith has room. Duluth is my all time favorite city and i think they'd be able to preserve an SD45

  • Plus, I hope you dont think all of these 34 SD45's are on WC property. The IC has some, the NS and BNSF combined have 10 atleast. Then some are way up in Escanaba.
