  • where? kato only makes the chevron nose version and psk doesnt make them anymore. WC colors are hard to come by

  • 15 out of the last 24 SD45's were retired two days ago. Leaves the total at 9. 5 are on lease on the NS, and 4 are on the WC. I caught one of the 4 yesterday, 7554. Good luck ever seeing one leading again. SD45's will be no more very soon.................

  • Ya know i wonder what the big rush is about.......MRL has many Sd45 still there........but MR MEDLIN you are wrong the reason MRL proabably bought those SD45R's being downrated to a sd40 helps in fuel....plus the WC 45's are proablly in better shape than most of the MRl units....running condtion that is......just te railroads colors dosn't mean they run great...Hey look at the SD50's.................i bet that those units would continue to be leased or stored for when traffic increases.........so i hear......................Maybee they are those units rebuilt by Morris -kudson (s.p.)

listen to the quiet...........No more 645
  • NO,no,no Kale.
The MRL untis are painted WC and they will go first because they are not downrated.

  • I live not far from Homewood and have noticed a large increase in the number of engines in the deadlines lately. Most of these engines are WC SD45s and GTW/DWP/CN SD40s. Lots of the SD45s have had parts removed and are waiting for the scrapper. Here are some photos I took of the deadlines. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=142495 http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=38116&cat=500&ppuser=5363
There was a DM&IR SD40-3 and a SP SD40M-2 also, but luckly not in the deadline. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=142390 http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=142459

  • Ya, its really sad to see this happening, as WC was the whole reason i got interested in trains. Also, ive looked through your shots often, and i even commented on one. Im Alec Holmes. Keep taking pictures there, as many cant get down there and see them for themselves.
