Don't loose heart. E. Hunter Harrison, an American, is running the CN. The CP is Clearly Canadian.

I'm always surprised when someone refers to the BN or Chessie as a fallen flag. Strictly speaking, they are. But the golden age of railroading? Nnnnnnnno.

  • I'd have to say CEMR or Central Manitoba Railway (I think the E stands for Eastlake, cause it runs to Pine Falls? not too sure) But i live close to where the shops and yards are, and they have 4 GP9rm's, sometimes they even run them long hood forward! But the black charcoal grey and red and white striping is the handsomest paint job since the NAR. I can hear their whistle even as i write this, they are a subsidiary of Cando Contracting out of Brandon,Manitoba,Canada. I've spent many days by the Pine Falls Subdivision, which used to be a CN sub, and they also own the former CN Carman sub too.[:I]

  • SEABOARD COAST LINE "Planning a trip, or planning to ship? Plan on SEABOARD COAST LINE!" As a young boy riding in the car with my parents driving on US 301, before the interstate was built these billboards were all along the road. They were orange with black letters, SCL is tops in my book!
