BNSF doesn't stand for Burlington Northern Santa Fe...It means Big New Santa Fe!

There seem to be a couple of other names missing out here. How about the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy (now a part of the BNSF)? Theb there was the Chicago and Eastern Indiana (C & E I, and I think that's what it stood for)? Also there Was the C & W I.
There is another small line in Chicago called tehe Chicago River Industries, and I never hear anything mentioned on any of them. Ralph Zimmer Alsip, Il

Least fovorite: The UP - they've been gobbling up TOO many of their competitors. I also prefer for US railroads to remain in US hands not Canadian. How many roads in Canada are owned by US companies?
