milw diesel whereabouts

  • Thanks Alec, good pics. Can you still park accross from the roundhouse/diesel shop at Pigs eye, or have they tightened security?
Question: In the history of the human race what single thing is responsible for more destruction and death than any other? Answer: Organized religion.
  • Well, if you get a pic and leave really quick, i dont think anything will happen, but if you stick around to long, you MAY be asked to leave. My uncle works for CP as a dispatcher so i usually get to stick around.

  • MILW 199 is now on Wisconsin and Southern rails as WSOR 4009.

Ran her a few times when I used to work for WSOR. She can still run with the best of them, and was one of the better pullers in the fleet, despite being one of the lighter SD40-2s built.

Also the North shore senic doesn't own the box cabs the Lake Superior Railway Museam owns them, the north shore dosen't own ANYTHING, it's just a name which is run by a substiary the Duluth and North Shore Railroad, of the Lsrm, so in essance the nssr is only a turm used to discribe the passenger operations at the museam. YOU WORK THERE I CANT, BELEIVE YOU DIDN,T KNOW THAT.............................. Ever look at the orginization that pays you............ The LSRM NOT the NSSR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The RSC2 is running at Mid Continent Railway in North Freedom Wisconsin, not Green Bay, about a two and a half hour difference. Here is the page from the museum's website about the 988 (the RSC2):

If anyone here has never been to Mid Continent in North Freedom (about 2 or 3 miles from Baraboo, WI), I highly recommend the trip. It's a neat little hour long round trip out to a quarry, and travels through one small town. The Museum has a lot of neat peices of equipment too. Right now they use an S-1 to run the excursion trains, although hopefully soon there Steam will be repaired and back in running order again. I can't wait for that day (which is more than 5 years comming).

Thanks for the correction, but the rail trip just dosen't have the same oura that the 24 mile NSSR has, up to 35m.p.h. and over2 miles are within 200 feet of the largest body of freash water in north america, lake Superior. Athough I do have to say i loved that s-1 [:p]as of now we don't have any alco powerd trips, nor do we have steam, we are about 300,000 dollers short.
Never really learned the names of towns south of spooner.......[:I]

I can see where you could get little bit confused on this.
Don't mind my friend he's being mean! Max!!!!

And actually, ALCo stands for the American Locomotive Company, and MLW stands for the Montreal Locomotive Works.
