Oh no, not for me it ain't. Why for me it's a down right compliment.
  • Hey guys,

The weeks been going so so, haven't had a whole lot of time to post. Have been reading though.

Good news on my front, I finally get to go seriously railfanning this weekend, after about a two month hiatus. If all goes well, Sunday night or Monday I should have a bunch of shots. Hopefully of BNSF, CP, and if we get lucky a little Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern (ICE, a regional railroad). There's also the possibility I may hit a Model Railroad show in the afternoon, if we decide we'd rather go their then keep chasing trains. It will probably depend if it's cloudy or not (and they are predicting partly cloudy). I'm really excited, and I can't wait for Sunday now.

And Saturday is a meeting of my module group, so that should be good too. Were not going to set up this time, but it should still be fun to get together with the rest of the group and talk and stuff.

Hopefully I'll have a good weekend. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't end up with a bunch of homework or something, as that would really suck......

    See ya around,
    Noah

You might be a redneck if...being called a redneck is a compliment.[;)]
  • DUDEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! trainboyH16-44 That RS-11 you got a pic of is an old Erie mining company unit that ran near Duluth Minnesota. They sold those units down to Iowa for there grain operations. They use to carry iron ore from the iron range down to the ore docks along lake superior. imagine 7 of those locomotives coupled together running an ore train. It was quite a show! I don't remeber how many there were but my friend Kale could buzz you a bit more info on the erie mining company. I just know about the RS-11. The Erie also had F-units and GP-20's. They also had baldwin switchers. It was a pretty cool operation untill it went out of business.

Eric: I am truely sorry about your name so for now on I will call you Eric[:)].

  • Gee thanks,....I think.
  • Well, the weather has turned the tables down here. It may have just snowed last night to about three inches, but the sun is back in black (not really). It is about 55 degrees here. But hopefully it stays this way until the weekend so I can railfan. But alas, we all know the way the weather "acts" when you want to railfan, LOL.

Oskar- Again, how far up is NS supposed to go with their SD70M-2s? Because last time I checked, NS 2749, an SD70M-2, was spotted at Alliance, OH sometime in late Febuary in full primer dress. I still have yet to see one in primer.

But still, I have only seen one NS ES40DC in full dress (7502). I like how NS is painting their logo smaller on their newer locomotives.

Matthew- Awesome photos! The last photo of the CP in front of the mountain really caught my attention! No doubt that if you submit that photo to rrpicturearcives, it'll instantly become an "editor's pick", (something I have yet to get).

Oh yeah- And the CN ES44DC was awesome.. Didn't know they ordered any. Look great! And that RS11 is a nice, shabby little loco.

I'm still aching to see a CP ES44AC let alone any brand-new CN loco. No offense, but I do think that the CP red on the ES44 units does look a little bit better. No offense to all of you CN railfans out there.

    Anyways, talk to ya'll later.

  • Rick- 2719 (not inclusve) according to www.thedieselshop.us . I have only see 7514 fully dressed but here its not really a big NS town only 5+ trains a day or less.

Well I am kinda pissed off today 1. I ain't going to tell gets me ever more pissed off 2. In MLB 06 The Show. I am up 6-5 with my Atlanta Braves over The St.Louis Cards' in the 2nd round in the playoffs so with up 1 I put in Closer Chris Reitsma 2 outs then blows the save so a good inning after that. I score 3 runs so put in the local born McKay McBride 2 outs then a STL player hits a double then I say ''all they need is a 2 HR's to tie'' and what do they do score 2 HR's then a few choice words. Messed up on sending Andruw Jones to the plate when he gets out. Then with McBride still on the mound Cards' player hits double then goes to 3rd after a ground out. Then scores on a fly ball to Jeff Francoeour. Then a few choice words. 3. Lynx down 3-2 to the Charlotte Checkers ( 9:00 PM/ 3rd period).

I had a good vacation. Quite fun. Then I got my pics back. They're currently 56 and 60 in the railpictures que, and another one is about to be submitted. I'll probably also upload them to rrpicturearchives.
Eric's back! Sweet! Maybe it's time to delete your posts on your forum? You know the ones I mean..
And I've got a lot of talking about my weekend in my forum's coffee shop, if you want to know.

And it's a lot easier to photograph!! Railpics rejected my CP shot for Bad Cropping. It's not my fault! The photo lab cut off the bottom on the reprint!
I'm going to get in a shot of CP 8750 for a reprint, it's not a leader, but I got a pretty good angle on it, and boy does that paint look good new! Too bad they didn't put the beaver on..[:(]
Yes, I knew the history of that loco, which is why I hope that rp.net will accept it, but you know them. And I've got a picture of Erie Mining F units on my wall!

Actually, Most RS11's and the other SD power was sold to Maryland Midland. The F units are still on the line, as they will be running a few more trains this coming year with excess taconite.

  • Hi all-
Can't stay long tonight..... Plus, I have a headache making it very uncomfortable to sit in front of a computer. Sorry.....

Oskar- Which Switcher unit does CSX own that is painted in their "AC6000CW" paint scheme? Or was this just a mythical N Scale model? Because I thought you were referring to that loco when you mentioned 1233, but that is just another regular one...

To be honest, I don't believe you when you say that that is the only CSX Switcher in that scheme. Almost all of them, besides a few are in that scheme. Caught 1238 recently and it was in that scheme, just curious.....

Matthew- that is ridiculous that railpictures didn't accept your photo, I thought that it was great. And I'm not just "saying" that.

Well, while typing this I went to eat a quick supper (left over sub sandwich) and I'm feeling a little better. Hopefully I stay better, LOL.

oscaletrains- I like the new sig pic. I always have liked the C&O and B&O shared paint scheme, but more than anything else, I like the "modified" version of the C&O and B&O paint scheme, the "Dark Future."

Anyways, talk to ya guys later.....
