Oh yeah, and how about a pic of NKP 755, a 2-6-4 I believe. (My first steamer pic!):

It's a 2-8-4. You can tell because there are 4 wheels on one side and when added up on both sides it makes 8.

    Nothing new otherwise.
I WANT TO GO RAIL FANNING!!!!!!!![:D]

  • call me james
  • Oscaletrains- Yes, there was a BLE (Bessemer & Lake Erie) Open Hopper behind it. It was in an ugly yellow paint scheme. Unusual for most of BLE's blue (rusty) and brown (normal color) open hoppers.

James- I should've known. I just didn't look at the photo before posting and didn't put much thought into what type of steamer it was.

I'm praying for a snow day tomorrow. So much snow came down tonight that the skies are still bright and it's now 10 pm here. We haven't had one snow day this year yet, and now might be the first!

Matthew- Thanks for the compliments on the photos! Any yes, you're about right......It is almost impossible to see a pair of Chessies now a days, but CSX still has three (I believe) running around. Plus, don't forget about their C&O unit, which I've seen once in Kent, OH.

Yesterday, I also caught my first trio of Dark Futures. 5122, 5103 and 564. It was akward seeing two high-numbered CSX AC4400CWs on the same train.

    For higher number AC4400CWs, I've seen: 5102, 5103, 5109, 5111, 5116, 5118, 5119, 5120 (four times) and 5122. (5119 was behind CSX 602 the "Spirit of Maryland."

    For high number AC6000CWs, I've seen: 5000, 5001 (Diversity In Motion units), 5002, 5003, 5005, 5006 (twice), 5010, 5014, 5015 (twice).

    Talk to ya'll later!

    Just for the recorded;

Any AC44W in the 5000 series use to be an AC6000CW. CSX didn't like the engine and experimented by downgrading them to 4400. You can tell that use to be AC60Ws because most (if not repainted into DF) still have the Gold CSX lettering on their flanks, a scheme resevered for the AC6000W only.
  • Nothing new here, except for the sig! Ahh, i have a feeling this week is gonna be really slow... I purchased a DMIR patch (the safety first) at the show along with a Athearn RTR Milwaukee Road hopper. Well, im off to school, seeya later guys.

  • nice to see you back i thought you were really mad at me sorry.

  • I had to wait 10 minutes just to make this post. Between the forum having Error messages, my comp being slow, and all the photos posted (which make the page take a long time to load for those of us on dial up) I honestly had to wait 10 minutes. [:(] [:(!] [:(] That seems like forever when you are waiting on the comp, know what I mean. [;)]

    OK George. [;)] [8D] [:)]

Put milk and cookies out for the mailman on Friday, if not Friday then Saturday.
You are the first person to receive some of the items in the package. I hope you enjoy them.

Later guys, this is my Friday and I have things to do. [:D]

  • Alec- REALLY nice sig there. I do like the GP35. Did you take the picture?
I see that you are buying Milwaukee road railcars. Nice to hear.

    17 days kale.... 17 days.

  • Jeez, now I have strep throat. Just great. I went to the doctor this morning, and I was diagnosed with a minor cold. Now, the results from the rapid test say I have strep throat.

    I live near Philly, PA.

  • John- I mean the 5100 series AC4400CWs. Not the 5000 series AC6000CWs. I already know 'all' about them. 5000 and 5001 are the "Diversity in Motion" units. And 5107 is the "W. Thomas Rice Special." (Thomas Rice was former President of the SCL, Rice Yard was named after him.)

It's been kind of slow here lately. Things have been going slowly. And for the record in a while, this is my first time posting three times on a page.

Alec- That one comment I made on your one photo of the former Conrail was not mean't to cause things. Or to be rude, but I was kind of astonished while reading that you thought that Conrail was "Junk" or how you wrote "Quality? I think not..." That is offensive to some NS railfans. NS is my second favorite railroad and I like everything about it.

I don't know why you think that it is junk, but, no offense, I believe you kind of have to get out of the groove of commanding and yelling at people. (Remember the flame war me and you had when "Breakingbenjamin4444" was around) I hated you back then, no offense, but you've gotten a little better. And also, to the contrary, your little thing you said: "If he can count, he can beat you" was a bit offensive. I just slipped up, everyone makes errors, but you had to point that out and make a rude comment. I don't want to start anything. And please, don't come back and smart off to me.

    I'll talk to ya'll later.

    .....................

P.S.)- Who thinks I should give up my account? Answer please!

  • Richard, why would you give up your account? I say you should NOT.

Well, I have both strep throat and a sinus infection.

First of all, i dont really care if your offended by me calling your railroad junk. Do you want to know why? Ive been in that engine 3 times. It is junk. Its blew up before *its a GE*
and the interior is some of the worst ive ever seen a GE. It has electrical problems too. Now that we got that settled.

You got to get some thicker skin Richard. The if he can count thing was a joke, and just a joke. If you get mad over that, you have a long road ahead. I dont command people, unless noobs get a little out of hand. ALL NOOBS USUALLY HAVE TO LEARN THE HARD WAY, and you did and your not a *** anymore. Now, about the "dont come back and smart off to me", was not needed, because you have to be OLDER, and more mature , or an adult to even think of using that. Im not your enemy anymore if you havent noticed. Im not such a little d i ck , but some people just get on the other side of your patience. You did, and now you dont. Simple,
