  • Ok.
Alec, nice SD45s there. Did Kato make the locomotives? I know someone here in Duluth/ Superior named Dan Mackey and he has the largest layout in the City. Alec.. He's a WC fan.
I believe he has more than 70 locomotives on his layout more than half of those locomotives would be his SD45s in WC paint. He also has two DMIR SD38-2s.
You would love his layout. Its a double decker layout with two helixs at either end.
My favorite locomotives that he owns are the Bricks, or known as EMD's high nose SD35's. He owns two more than the WC owned. I think he has 8 of them.
If I had the time or money like this guy I would own the whole basement of my house and go and buy locomotives until I drop.

Unfortunatly I will not beable to attend the show on Saturday in Minneapolis. It would have to be Sunday.[V] Sorry

Ya Pennfan..um... I wouldn't get into a fight about cars. That kid will talk you to death about cars and trucks...........

    Well talk to you later.

  • Ahhh, man that sucks! Well, is it just you that cant go, or the whole crew? Please dont say everybody.......... Well, i went fannin today. Caught the WC, and 4 minnesota commercial engines in the yard. I got a ride to the CP yard in MPLS ( in a car, not cabride ) and took some pics of the WC there, and then some CP stuff. Check railpics, i dont know if they will get accepted, but most look like a 99% chance. Well, seeya guys,

    Alec

P.S. Those SD45's are Proto 2000's, but my buddy is paintin me a WC SD45 # 7514 (sig) on a Kato model.

  • Hey guys!

The newest Show display veteran has returned! I had an absolutely great show in Madison, I picked up a bunch of new cars and I had a great time running the layout. The module went over pretty well too. And, best news of all, we were voted Best of Show for the club layout!!!!! That’s pretty good considering that this is the first show we have ever displayed at, but it sets a pretty big precedent for us in the future!

I am really, really happy though. I ran a train around for at least 4 hours throughout the course of the weekend, and at one point I had a WSOR SD40-2 and about 16 cars flying around the layout at top speed for a lap or so. It was kind of fun really, and it was even more fun when I got the thing slowed down to a more reasonable level without having the whole train come flying off.....

Alec, pretty sweet WC units. There was another member at the show who had a WC SD45 running around with lights and sound on the layout, and man was that a sweet sounding locomotive. I'm not sure what make it was, but it might have been a P2K like yours.

Not a whole lot new from me other than that though, as pretty much all I did all weekend was the show. I had a lot of fun with it, and I sure can’t wait till the next show now(which could be anywhere from 2 months to a year away)!

  • Thanks Noah! Max, come on man, answer my question. You guys can come on the 25th right? Well, they said my pics were under exposed, and one wasnt the right size. I tried them again, and 1 got through........

  • Tmcc man. I don't mean to be rude or anything but, I don't know what your talking about, should I take this as a compliment? More info please.

Alec. I can't come down. I just don't have the time now. It's really sad because I wanted to come but oh well. Anyway, nice SD45s. I am really impressed with what Proto 2000 is coming out with.

  • Well, now that I had read your statement a few times, I think it was directed to me in a way in which I should feel the need for defense, but I will leave it alone. I guess I will email Chris when I want to talk cars, or someone else if they want to.

Well, after getting that off my chest, I am leaving in a few for the cycling team meeting, and will not be back until 8 or so.

By the way, NSSR, I do like your new signature pic. That is pretty cool.

  • TMCC man, Pardon my getting into this, but where exactly did you see a statement from James that you saw as offensive. I never saw a thing when I looked back that seems in the least offensive. Please quote it if you don't mind, I'm curious.

John, Nice Photo of the Day on Railpic's, I can see why it one. It's one pretty sweet looking shot.

Not much new from tonight, other than that I don't have much homework and I'm kinda bored. I guess I'll go do some internet searches and see if I can dig up some cool railroad shots at all.
