TEEN RAILFAN PLACE-LET'S TALK TRAINS! Thread Locked

  • Chris, Nice photos. Looks like you did have a good day, and I'm glad you got to take advantage of the sun.

Not much new from me, other than lots o' homework, one big project and some studying to do. So, I'll stop yapping and head out......

  • Cornborn what was up with you posting "want an award" after you quoted me? I was simply saying that I can stop in to talk.

Chris I have no shots of the side of the engine. It looks exactly like the other engine's paint scheme.

Well, going to look at some science, so see ya later.

  • Rick- they did not count a touchdown after beacuse of that he was already down. When he dived for the line thats what they were looking at which he did not pass but counted it a TD even after reviewing it. The refs should have let them play and enjoy them selfs instead of letting it be a big deal some of the calls were bull ****. I have already put the bad calls on train-sim.com

Chris- What did you think of the half time show I thought it sucked they didn't sound as great as on the radio but it basically sucked.

  • Well, going to watch 24 in a few, and then either reading ALCo's to Allentown, or sleeping. Goood night everyone.
    Colin from prr.railfan.net
  • Yeah, Kevin, I agree, the Stones sonded better when tey were not as old. I enjoyed watching it, becasue I enjoy live music
  • I saw the halftime show too..man, what was Mick Jagger on? Nobody that old should be that energetic! And how is he so..like..flexible and creepy..
Rick - I tried to submit two of my best ones, and guess why they were rejected..

    go on..

Bad filename! I mean WTF? It was totally alphanumeric, too! The exact filename was skeenarp1. I mean really, WTF?? They now officially hate me.
And I'll probably do a really tiny bit of railfanning tomorrow, probably bike down to the yard for half an hour in the evening after school.

  • Matthew, With railpictures.net, "Bad filename" means that for some reason the screener couldn't veiw the picture, and they assumed that it was something that was your fault that caused the probelm. I can't say myself what the problem was, as I don't know exactly how you uploaded it and all that, but I'd say just try re-submitting the photos. To me at least, it's worth the try, as they still might except them if they can see them. I wouldn't take this rejection personally, it's a computer error somewhere.

I caught the last couple of minutes of the halftime show after getting back from watching the WSOR local, and man, Mick Jagger really can't sing anymore can he. I was glad I missed the show, as what I saw of it really sucked. And he walked around like he needed a hip replacement. I guess it just goes to show that 60 year old guys shouldn't be singing when they can't anymore. I'll stick to listening to their old stuff.....

  • Colin, it was in jest.

  • OK guys, you need a little adult input here. I'm 62 and can move just as well as Mick Jagger. Well, maybe I don't dance, but I can still play football with the neighborhood kids and outrun most of them. Take care of yourselves and you will be surprised what you can do when you are older. BTW, people who were at the game said the Stones sounded better in person than on TV. As for me, I never liked them anyway.

  • Meh. I still like them.
Noah, the weird thing is that I could view them when they were in the que! So I fiddled a bit and resubmitted them, and they were both rejected because they were backlit. Oh well..

Oh well, they wouldn't know a good-looking backlit shot if it came and bit them where it is definitely NOT lit! :-P

    The first shot is most def not backlit, you should appeal it stating that the engine's nose is completely ligthed. I suspect that perhaps the lamp post directly above the engine could be a negitive factor too. I don't really argee with the bad cropping. But, they aren't really into artshots;

  • I read their rules and guidlines for submitting photos..it says..get this..they would rather have an artsy shot than a wedgie! HAH!! Yeah, and Stephen Harper is going to work on his environmental programs because he hates pollution caused by Alberta oil... Although I have to admit your shot is quite cool. I'm going to appeal the vertical one again, citing the nose light, and then give up if they re-reject it again. Wow, railpictures can't be good for the old self-esteem! :-P
Anyways, typing from school, need to get back to work.

  • Hey guys.
Well, nothing interesting went on here today, and my parents and I think I am getting the flu again. So that is yet another thing on my mind, just what I need right now, with a vocab test, spani***est, and a religion quiz tomorrow. Then I have a science test on Thursday. So, I really do not want to be sick during this time.
    Colin from prr.railfan.net
  • Matthew, I agree with John, try to appeal that first shot saying that the locomotive is not backlit, the nose is fully lit meaning the sun must be from the front.

John, I think they should have accepted that shot of yours. It's a really cool and unique shot; were I the screener I would have accepted it. Afterall, the accepted that shot of the steam off of a bunch of ore cars in the air over a yard, and I've seen numerous shots like yours that they have accpeted. I think it's a good shot really, I like rest of the unit train being blurred, and the lighting works very well.

Well, not much new from me. Just the usual boring day with a little bit of homework. I hope to get some time to work on the module again tonight too, as I really need to get some more work done.......

    See ya around,
    Noah
