  • Howdy y'all. How's it been going. I've worked pretty much all weekend. But I don't mind making the money.[;)] Especially when I am paid to play with stereos and sound equipment. Almost comparable to selling model trains.[:D]

Tomorrow I go for my Driver's License. Y'all wish me luck, please.[8D]

I see there is a new face here, and already starting trouble I see. Tisk tisk tisk.

Jdirelan: Welcome. In all honestly, I thought your original posts weren't all that, umm...What's the word...On our level? (For lack of better description.) You did come off to me at least as someone who believe that they are better than everyone. But as I read, that faded. That was kind of close though, we don't need any flames in here. So, again, welcome.

Concerning the "art" of photography. I see no error to close up shots. Unless you are aiming for the approval of others, photos are there for personal momentos. To keep what the memory cannot. And therefore, the quality and artistic vision of the photo should be based upon the requirements and the intention of the photographer.[:D] And if a close up shot is wanted, then there is no error in that whatsoever.

At least this is what I think.[8D]

  • Alec, James, and Richard, some nice pictures there from all of you. It seems like our little group had been busy these past few days railfanning. I only wish I could say the same...

Didn't make it in yesterday, we had an extended meeting of the module group for a second day, and so I was busy with that most of Sunday. I made some good progress though, I got a bunch of my HO scale cars I am going to run at the show through the standards check (Proper weight, coupler heigth, wheel gauge, ect). I was going to run a train around yesterday, but they started tearing down the layout before I got a chance. But I'll have plenty of time the two days of the show in February to run trains.....

We figured it out, and we've got two scale miles of mainline run on the layout. And then it's a double track mainline, and there are a bunch of other spurs, do figure over 5 miles of mainline. That makes for a lot of track.....

I think I am going to head out for the day. I want to get some Caboose Industries ground throws installed for two of the turnouts on the module so that they will throw easier, and then I'm going to work on the turntable. My goal is to have the turntable and yard office done by the end of next weekend. I'll have some shots of the progress for you guys then. I'm going to have to really cook to get all the stuff I need to get done actually done in time for the show. I'm already sure that I'm not going to have the actual roundhouse done until after the show, so I'm going to turn the area that's supposed to be the roundhouse into an outdoor locomotive storage area.

    I'll see you guys around,
    Noah

  • Chris, your right, I do like the module group! It's been a great learning expirience, and it's a heck of a lot of fun at the meetings talking with the other group members about anything under the sun. And one of the members is a former WSOR employee, so I get a lot of insight into the railroad.......

Well guys, not a speck of homework tonight; Study hall paid off today. So I'm going to work some more on the module today.

I got the Caboose Industries ground throws installed last night, and the work like a charm. I definately will be using these things on future modules too. Today the plan was to do some spray painting outside, but with the 35mph wind gusts, no painting today. So, instead I am planning on doing some more scenery work; hopefully I'll get some more grass and dirt ground cover down.

I better get going, I'll see you guys around,
    Noah
