  • I went railfanning and SAW A RARE CSX GEVO in primer looks pretty interesting with out the YN3 paint or any paint and as normal these couple of months it was paired with another GEVO.I also saw 2 C30-7 power a rock trains these engines are happy to be alive instead of being retired just like its brothers.

  • Really it was just the one post and Alec, I was on earlier this morning and failed to log out. That is why he gained access so easily. I will be sure to log out tonight.

Rare? You must be on some CSX back water line because the primer units have been common sight all over the system - from Chiacgo to Pittsbrugh to New York. Still now even as they start painting them you sould be able to see at least one leading on a CSX main.

  • Oscaletrains,
GEVO is the acronym for the General Electric Evolution series locomotive. They are very sophisticated, as well as ergonomic, have lower emissions, and are a lot cleaner than a regular diesel. Hope that clears it up for you.

Well, I finished sanding the second car down. Just waiting for paint to buy and then apply. Funny how that rhymes, buy and apply. Well, nothing else going on here, going to watch the Barrett Jackson Car Auction.

  • I have an uncle that is in to classic cars.

that is a link to a website with some pics of australian trains. i will just point out something with trains in New South Wales, is that if a trains number is 4567, 45 is that loco's class, and the last two are that loco's number within that class (ie ti is the 67th loco in the 45 class) this rule DOES NOT apply to passenger trains, or trains in other states (don't worry about having to remember 50 sataes, we only have 6 states, and 2 territories, don't worry) you may have realised that our railways are done differently to yours. that is because largeley our rr's are owned by the governements. however in some states, i am not sure about all the freight is starting to be sold off to private companies, but the track and passenger services are still government owned. iu may edit this post with some new links, or post a new post, if you are a few pages ahead of this.
    bye for now
  • GEVO-some people use that instead of ES44DC or AC

Jdirlan-I live near the CSX's Georgia Sub(Augusta to Atlanta) and live less than a mile on the McCormic Sub(Augusta to McCormic,SC) the 5228 was my first one and usally Q197(the train 5228 was on) different power in the 7500-9000 area and sometimes derated AC6000 including UP a couple of times (mostly a SD70).I say it was rare beacuse there's 13 of them left.I did not go alot of railfanning in different places besides Hamlet,NC,Greenwood,SC and Augusta since they came out so I really do not know where they hang out.

NOTE C&O 4617 still in Augusta

  • Hey guys,

Had a great day today. The module meeting went absolutely fabulous, We ran a bunch of trains, including a DMIR ore train! BLI locomotives with sound, and 60 ore jennies; man, what a sight. Tomorrow we are going to try a 120 car ore train. That should be ever cooler, assuming we can get it to work.

I get to go back tomorrow for another day of the meeting. We decided that, since we were on a roll, we'd to a two day meeting. Tomorrow I'm going to do a little more work (Including installing some caboose industries ground throws), and I hope to run a few more trains. Hopefully things will go well again.

Not much else out of me today. Sorry if I'm missing replying to somebody, I'm tired. If I missed anything important just yell at me again, and I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

  • PennFan,
my cousin loves older cars, and he is the one that turned me on to muscle cars. He has a 'Cuda, with a HEMI, and I will tell you what, that thing roars. I missed the highest auction for the show, but here is the info I got on it. A 1970 Chevy Chevelle, dragster, convertible, and the winning bid was $1,150,000. I saw a few pix of it, and I fell in love with it when I saw it. They also had a 500 SL Mercedes Gullwing from '65, did not see the price on it. Anyway, gotta go see what else is rolling up, 3 hours left until it is over. That is mid night here in Pennsylvania.

  • Did you say HEMI? I love the 427 Dodge HEMI. That is without doubt the engine that I will wind up dropin' into the front end of my truck.

And there you have it! We did make a quick stop at Attica Jct. but my Kodak C300's batteries ran down and I had to use the video camera the rest of the time.

And actually, I did drop the camera, but this little durable Kodak withstood it!!!!! Thanks heavens!!!!

    Enjoy!!!
