  • James, Wow, talk about an awesome drawing!! That is sweet.

    Chris, thanks for the link.

Well guys, good news, I am going to be doing my part to help the hobby of Model Railroading. Because out module group is fairly new, and with the Local train show coming up soon, a couple members in our group decided we should invite some of the Madison TV stations and Newspapers to the next meeting. They also contacted some of the local newspapers where some of the members live. One of the guys contacted the Local Reedsburg Newspaper, and they want to do a story and my Dad and I and our involvement in the Module group!! They may even have picture of my module in the paper. The article won’t run in the paper for a few weeks, but I can’t wait till they do!

Not much else new from me. I do have a headache though, so I think I’m just going to go work on the module or on the yard office I’m scratchbuilding.

  • Well, my scanner started working. So now i can show you all the drawing. Noah, sounds awesome, have fun! And here she is,

  • I am tired. Probably going to sleep early again. I know that we are going out to dinner tomorrow night. Funny thing is that if the family we are inviting comes, they will probably have their daughter (my "other" crush) with them[:D][:D][:D] She is just as good looking as the first crush, but the second one happens to be available, as the first one is now dating someone. This could be a success, and I hope so.

If the above did not make any sense, let me try this: Crush A is now dating, while Crush B happens to be available. I can make a move on Crush B tomorrow nite, and leave Crush A out of this totally. By the way, A and B are just their "names". A is no better than B.

  • I like the drawing you did Alec. If you could come to Duluth you could run the WC 7528 Training Simulator at the Depot. The WC used it for 10 years then the CN took over and they donated it to the museum. www.LSRM.org It has a full functional control stand and all the sound in the world and yes a nice sounding horn. Full size picture along with the simulator. It's awesome. You sould come and run it sometime.
The number board my dad picked up and I have no idea where. It came off an F-unit. I think that its a good collectors item. If you notice there is a Northern Pacific sign under the railroad table. That sign was from a bud car that ran in Duluth minnesota and a friend of my dads while drunk "AQUIRED" it.

My next drawing will be of Two SD70M along with a SD75M hauling a coal train.

  • I will have limited posting until this computer virus on my PC is cleared up. A pop-up keeps appearing in the lower right corner saying my computer is infected. It won't stop coming and it is irritating. It takes up 1/4 the screen just about!

Anyways, I might go railfanning tomorrow!!! I haven't done that since the second!!!! 5 days of non railfanning, I can't stand it!!!--LOL But seriously, rare stuff has been showing up lately. Including CSX 1, Chessie 9121, NS Op Lifesavers, and a few others. And once, a DW&P!!! So I might post once more tonight but that'll be it! I cannot hardly stand this computer. It won't let me into my email, for cripe sakes!!!!

  • Another thing Alec about the ssimulaator is that you can hit aschool bus with the loco. This is not fictional film. Max can fill you in with more details. I kneed info. onthw MRL> SD45's still operating if anyone can help[?][%-)]
  • Thought you guys might want to see the rest of my collection of oh so wonderful model trains.

This is of the locos i've displayed in the first case. There is a northern pacific 2-8-8-2 yellowstone. Milw SD10 unpainted. Milw F-units Genesis A,B,A set, Milw Brass SD9, Milw RSC-2,and other cars.

My favorite locomotives are in this case. hidden behind the little joe there is a VO-1000. Milw Little Joe Brass, unfortunatly my bipolar is being painted at the moment and is not displayed. 2 SD60 Oakways from proto 2000, an SD75M in BNSF and the ditch lights work on it. and finally an E7 with sound from broadway limited.
Any comments are excepted. Thanks for looking.

    James
P.S. Alec, the sign to the left of the first picture is WC sign warning any WC trains to call the dispather on channel 79-79 before proceeding past this point.
Thought you might want to know that.

  • You can what? Wait, are you saying this is one of those that they filmed from the front of a loco and they actually hit a bus???
Well, I broke my computer. By installing the wrong type of RAM. I just now got it fixed! Barely! Just by fiddling.. But on the bright side, I now have a 100Gb external hard drive, and I am working on installing MSTS on it, that takes up a good amount of my hard drive! Also all my music and documents go there, I will never have to worry about space again!
as for trains, I am succesfully running that 35 car train with only 3 GP7/9s and no helpers! Takes a skilled hand on the throttle, but it does work! Unfortunately, there was a minor incident earlier today where I accidentally bumped the reverse switch with my hip..the slack run-in cause 5 cars to derail, and the front half of the train piled into it, causing one car to go on the floor and the rest to zig-zagging across the mainline...the car that hit the floor was one of my accurail hoppers, landed funny and somehow ended up with it's endrails broken in an interesting way...
James, WONDERFUL drawing there! The trucks are a bit short but it's not a problem, they are really good! Remind me a bit of MLW Hi-Ad trucks!
I also got MSTS working by deleting a lot of patches, about 2 gigs worth..now I have 3 gigs free on my C drive. Actually, I've transferred quite a bi to the external, so let me check up on that..

  • Noah- that sounds great....you are lucky!!!

    Alec- nice drawing, as always!!!

Richard- hope you can get your comp. working good...

James- nice stuff man!!! I dig the Little Joe!!!! [^][:D]

Kale- I can tell you almost anything you need to know about the MRL!! I am a HUGE MRL fan, just ask Matthew (trainboyH16-44) MRL has 64 20 cylendar, underated SD45s.. what else do ya need to know?

    Later,
  • James, I like the little Joe a bunch. For some reason any locomotive built like that, with a cab at both ends, always intrigues me.

Well guys, starting my day off early again this morning. I was considering going railfanning today, but for about the 15th Day in a row it is cloudy in Wisconsin, so I scrapped that idea. I don't think I've personally seen the Sun since the 22nd of December. It get's depressing, especially when you want to go railfanning so badly.......

Ah well, I can only hope, and in the meantime go work on my module.

    Noah
  • yep, Kale, just give me your IM, and we can all start talking about the plan. Thanks on the compliments, Noah, i started the 2500. The proportions arent too great, so im not basing it off the pic anymore, but i will have cars in the backround. Well, the sun is out here! I cant beleive it, but it wont be here for much longer i guess [:O] Talk to ya all later,
