  • Did you know that The Missabi SD40-3 where actually SD45T-2 (You Know that part kale and I do to.) but the only thing different about them were there electronics and the replacement of there 20 cyclinder diesel engine.

I like the SW1 but the NW5 I say beats the SW1 out[:)]. The NW5 is one of my favorite running units at the museum.

  • Ya the SD40 locomotives had a 16 cylinder engine in them and to change the SD45 to an SD40 they had to replace The 20 cylinder 3600 horsepower engine in them. I thought it quite strange my self.
My brother says hows that math homework coming!

  • oskar- That SBD 4601 looks great! I don't think it will be retired for another good 7 to 9 years. Although, I have never personally seen it.

The C&O 4617 appeared up here in Kent, OH on an eight-locomotive consist lead by a CSX C44-9W # 9050. It startled me! I never expected it to be coming around the curve. It was in the forth position.

Chessie 9121 seems to be lurking around up here. First it blew by on 12/4/05 on a six-locomotive consist. With a new Wedgie in there [;)]! Then it returned on a five-locomotive consist on 01/02/06. Both time in the last position. I found it in RRPA.net as an RCPHE4. Radio Controled. You can tell; it's got the orange light up top.

Just a quick question: Has anybody spotted the "Alstom Demo" (GCFX 3072)? I like this loco and missed it by a hair up here twice. Just curious. It is beautiful, yet it's taken on the ringer.

  • I have spotted it on railpictures.net. Here is a whole page worth of pics to tie you over until you see it in the flesh! [:D] http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?road_number=GCFX%203072

I must say it is a fine looking loco!
  • James and Kale, Please refrain from using this topic as an instant messaging place!! It's not!! Try to make only a few posts at a time not a whole page of them!! E-mail each other if you want to have a private coverstation. We don't want to have this placed locked and deleted like last time. Please, don't ever do that again. That is what a chat room or e-mail is for.

Well guys, I've been working on the structure I've been scratchbuilding. I ended up screwing up while I was cutting out a window opening for one of the walls and had to redo one. Thankfully it wasn't that far into the process anyway, but it was still annoying and it wasted a little of my time.

Not much more from me today, I'm going to head out. I'm tired and I feel like reading my Model Railroader and trains for a while.

  • Ahh crap, a chatroom. C'mon guys, since you are new here, we hve this rule about instant messaging. You see, in our old olace, the one that got locked out due to complications, one of the factors that contributed to our downfall was the sheer amount of pages made from instant messaging. I am not mad at you guys, and I WANT to give you a second chance, so please, no chatrooming.

If you simply must continue to communicate, just edit into your post, Richard and I did that last night, becasue a link he gave me did not work, and the two of us sorted it out, but we communicated by editing into our original posts, to eliminate clutter.

So guys, I would like to sincerely [#welcome] you to our place, and hope you become regulars.

    Best regards

    Chris
  • Hey everybody!
Yep, please keep from using this as a chatroom, I do know that there isn't one on trains.com, but I hope there will be one eventually..
I see that American64, that troll (Remember "ohio"?) is back on the trains forum..
I haven't got the new MR yet, but I got the trains today, and I love the LIRR for it's F-M units! And I hear the MR is a really good one, so can't wait!
Alec - unavailable? Definitely not a good sign..I think my problems are just because of lack of HD space, good thing I'm getting an external soon. If that doesn't work, i think I'm going to have to do a complete reinstall... and that would mean losing quite a few patches..

  • Ohh SH[censored]T american64 is back. Matt, thanks for the DNFTTs... did you email Bergie or should I???
  • I already emailed him, and I supersized the DNFTTs, it seems that they weren't getting enough notice. Edit: Yup, even the medium sized ones weren't getting enough attention..*sigh*
Ooh, i can't wait until my comp gets upgraded..
And to CMSTPP and nssr9169, almost forgot to [#welcome] you to our place!
    Edit2:

    Alec

I have a ton of engines from many different roads, and I run them all the time, i ahrdly ever use the default stock. Just imagine a Warbonnet SD75 and 3 GP60Ms pulling 50 roadrailers across western Montana, and that's what I'm talking about! I also have a few more routes, including Bear Mountain Pass, where I ike to run some of my steam.
    Edit3:

    Chris

What you talkin about, fool? nothing wrong with the derated ones! we have 3 or 4 of those here in Calgary, and they are still beauties with that turbocharged 645 sound that makes me thrill!
And edit4: No, you didn't offend me! but as long as it's got a 645 in, it's allright in my books!

I've heard from jim lately, he's not a regular here, not even close to being a teen!
