LETS GO TIGERS! (clap, clap, clap clap clap )
  • Dock, your last one was better, but hey you cant win them all. Also, you may want to change dash 9 to AC4400CW. And 9120 is a SD90Mac. But nice job none the less. I went to the depot today. The transfer had WC SD40-3, IC SD40 ( or -3 ) and CN SD40-2L. Ill try railpictures. Ill draw a CP AC44 tonight for you Matt.

  • I still don't know all mytrains like you do ALEC.... LoL Im a NOOB
  • Well, not too much to report. Sorry for my short little disappearence there.

Today I went railfanning; caught alot of SD70 series locomotives. Infact, you talk about GEs' being toasters, you should've seen CSX 766, an SD70MAC today. Steaming like an old steamer. Air pollution; thick black smoke! I was scared of that loco. Scanner picked up a defect believe it or not. So 766 will be in the shops soon I imagine.

Also, a 75 mph UPS Mail flew through my favorite, Berea, OH today with UP SD70MAC power. Kind of rare out here; you mostly see UP SD70Ms. Then came my fifth NS SD70M-2! With none other than a SD70M. Not a rare mix anymore at least.

What else came by was CSX 720, another SD70MAC and CSX 4845, an SD70ACe pulling a 75 mph stack/mail train.

It was good, having been the day before New Years. 7 trains in an hour. Well just one thing,

    HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!

Let 2006 be better than 2005......

Hey I had to say something.

  • Chase, This drawing certainly isn't horrible, acutally it isn't all that bad, but your first one was closer to on the mark. I do like this one though....

Avalon and Walworth, huh? More than likely that was the JCEL technically this is the Janesville to Chicago via Elkhorn(A branch off of where you chased), crew, but when there is no need to run to Elkhorn the crew simply takes the train as far as it can towards Chicago before they run out of hours and the regular JC(Janesville to Chicago) crew takes over. Or at least I'd bet that's what it was.

And I'm betting that other place that started with B was Bardwell? And the Bridge it went south on through Janesville was probable the Rock River Bridge. The UP has a bridge right above the WSOR one, right?

As far as how the WSOR classifies units, they have four types only: SD40-2, GP38, SD20, and GP7U. However, in reality many of the units are technically GP38-2's, GP38-3's, SD40-2's, ect, but many times they don't have all the modifications necessary to call them by the extended names, and so the WSOR simply calls them all by the same names.

Well guys, I'm not ringing in the new year this year. I'm going to a Packer game tomorrow in Green Bay, and so I've got to be up at 5:15 in the morning. The good part is that I usually run into one or two trains along the way(although we never have time to stop and take photos), but often I see WC and IC units.

You all have a safe time tonight, and....

    Happy New Year!

My new years resolutions. Well, I'm going to try and do the opposite of 2005 in 2006.....

I'm going to spend more time foaming and working on the layout then on the forums!!

If I spend as much time on the layout and out taking pictures as I do on this forum, I'd have a massive collection of photos and the best layout in the state!

    See ya Monday guys....

    Noah
  • Chris, thank you! I'm glad you like it. The only problem I have with it is the "huge" date down in the lower right hand corner.

Here is a drawing I did yesterday of a UP SD40-2 and SP SD45 pulling an intermodal train. I originally drew it for my friend, but he kinda left it at my house.

Speaking of my friend, I'm sleeping over his house tomorrow and the next day (Monday) I'm railfanning at Berea. WOOH-YEAH!!! I'm excited!

Here is the drawing I mentioned above; enjoy!!!

    ..................

-P.S.)- I had a cruddy yellow marker, so sorry about that. I will try to finish coloring soon!

  • Lookin' good, Richard.
Chase - It doesn't matter that the number is of an SD90/43, it reminds me of the section of track between Canmore and Banff. Just get rid of the cliff that it's coming around, and you'll have a very prototypical drawing there!
I didn't get pics, but with my new filter I'm inclined to try that just now.. :-)

  • [8D]YES!!!!!!!!! 1ST POST OF 2006!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!!!! [8D][:D] "OUR PLACE" FORGES ITS WAY INTO THE NEW YEAR~~~ HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! AND A GREAT 2006!

    [:D][:D][8D]
  • Yeah... well ok.... lol
Agian... i'll TRY and do better next time! (noticed i used the word try)
Rich... Good lookin work.... Those are excellent.... I wish i was as good with color!
Ohh and the reason the other on was more on the mark is cause I had some thing to look at! On this picture I didn't The lead loco stated out as a unit I haven't seen yet.... and then turned into the 'Dash9-Sd 70I-Ac4400CW- Dash 8 W,..... lol' The second loco was out of total memory... and is supposed to represent a AC 440CW,

What is the difference between a Dash 9 and a Dash 8,... and a Sd70I and a AC 4400CW, and a GP60 and a GP 38, or an SD 24.....? and how can you guys tell?....... i'm just curious! Cause i'm still learning about trains.... I HAVE NO IDEA[banghead][:)]
  • What does the number of an SD90... have to do with it...... ooooh wait I'm thinking now lol..... prototype! arrg... you rivet counters.....[(-D]

im kidding,,, no really help me out... i've fallen out of the loop.... i would like to be able to Identify them as well as you...... It seems that i've seen 2 Dash9's sitting side by side and yet they looked totally different from one another!!! Why?[%-)]
Oh and happy NEW YEAR..... Oh and are any of you guys on MYSPACE?
