  • Thanks fer backin me Coborn, though I never was much fer athletics. I am more of an outdoorsman. I dont care what I am doin as long as I am out in the wilderness.

  • Well I am marching in the Christmas City of the North Parade Friday. It is the alrgest parade in northern Minnesota. My teacher is a complete idiot however. He gives me a new part on bass drum this morning and then yells at me about how it should be memorizes. I just about told him to shove a drumstick up his bass drum. Then cymbals really would have crashed. lol

Anyway, came back from the milwaukee show.....I think they have some of the best prices that I have ever seen. I picked up a B30-7 (Burlington Northern) With sound and DCC for $130.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Shock [:O] The prices were awesome!! I also picked a U25B, early version with the longer nose. Of course that is Milwaukee road! Then I picked up Nine freight cars! 4 of them were 2 bay hopper, 3 of those were ACF, (Rock island, Great northern, Northern pacific)  and the other was a PS2.(Soo line) Then 3, 40 foot box cars, all Milwaukee road. Then the last two cars were open 2 bay ballast hoppers, Milwaukee road again.Big Smile [:D]

Pretty nice show! Lots of module layouts to look at. Very fun!

Really? I went to the show on Saturday, and I thought the exact opposite. The only place I found with lots of good deals in the entire show was at Lombard Hobbies. They had some great deals on locomotives and cars there (although I didn't get much because A. I don't really need it and B. I'm saving up for the professional DSLR camera, so the MR budget is down), but other than that almost everything was a standard 20% off. I can get that price from my local hobby shop, and there I also get service to back it up. I was really dissapointed with the show this year, it's just not anywhere near as good as it used to be. There were a lot of cool layouts though, I'll agree with you there.

I didn't get a whole lot myself. I picked up a 40' Accurail boxcar, two WEPX (Wisconsin Electric Power) coal cars, and a few decal sets to continue some projects I'm working on. That was about it though. I almost picked up a set of 6 MRL coal hoppers and a CNW Dash 9 at Lombard, but I remembered the camera and so I didn't. Any other year though, I probably would have a new locomotive and set of cars now...

Ah well, I'm sure I'll find a lot more stuff at the Madison Show in February (although last year I didn't really there either....)

  • Myslef and Kale marched tonite, and here is how it went.

1 1/2 hours: Practiced and ate pizza.

1/2 hour : rode bus down

1/2: Sat in bus jammin with the drums cause we were bored.

1/2: Sat in line waiting to go.

Then we had a drumoff with rival school Denfeld. We frickin smoked them.

    1/2 : Marched

  • We almost had a drum line challenge, but the drumline screwed up and played the new secret cadence before they went down for it. When the rival band heard this, they said never mind.
