CEFX stands for CIT Rail Resources. Where they are located out of I don't really know. Most of their locomotives wear a blue scheme like this one:

Quite a few of them seem to work for the CP, although there are others that work for most of the other class ones as well. They do however have a few ex-UP units that are still in their old yellow with CEFX reporting marks, so hopefully the SOO SD60's will stay in red and white with CEFX reporting marks only.

  • Only the 6000-6020 were sold. So the engines in Hams shot are safe.

  • Well that is good for fans of that line.

  • This is good to know Alec. Now if the CP will just run a few more of the SD60's that are left down to this neck of the woods, things would be much better for me. For some reason we seem to lack SD60s down here, although there are a few that come through every once and a while.

Yes, okay. I have seen those locomotives before. But I don't see them a lot. Here in Duluth the CP has trackage rights over the BNSF to get to there single yard in superior. So we don't see to many of these locomotives wandering around. Mostly SD40-2s and dash 9s. Once in awhile we will get a grain train or manifest out of there yard. Maybe two per day. One up and one down. Otherwise it's BNSF and the Candain National.

BTW: Maybe somebody can answer this one. Lately on the CN I have been seeing a lot of UP units on CN trains. most of the time there in with the consist and a CN loco is leading but there have been some occasions where a UP loco is leading. Whats going on there. Some type of agreement or something. And it's getting more frequent too. Almost every train caught has one.

    Wow, what a message.Shock [:O] That was a record there. A record for shortest message!Mischief [:-,]

Well anyway, It's finally the weekend. I need some time off from the school. my god it's killing me. Even though I did get a 3.6 on the report cardSmile [:)]

I am just about to start on my next portion of the layout, scenery wise that is. The grain elevator is going to get it's portion of the scenery very soon.

Here it is. The 3 foot long, 1 foot high monster. looks a bit bare without the scenery.

Forgot to mention about the F-units. Athearn Genesis FP9 F-units. Northern pacific. Got both the A and the B for $125. What a deal.

Then the car that won me Best in show at a contest located at the show I went to this last weekend.

All air pipes are hand applied. Used brass wire.

  • Yep, the Cardnals won all right. It was a pretty good game too, and it had the right outcome so far as I was concerned. Really with the way the tigers played the world series, they didn't deserve to win....

James, I know what you mean about needing time off. I've been really tuckered out lately, although I finally (for the first time this school year) had a four day weekend this weekend, with the past two days off. I haven't done a whole lot extra special, but it gave me a chance to actually run the layout (switching cars and stuff), and just relax a little. BTW, I like the grain elevator too! It looks pretty neat.

Well, I might be going railfanning tomorrow over towards Fond du Lac, and Milwaukee way (hopefully to catch a little bit of WC stuff, if there is any of it left....), so I better get going. I've got some stuff that I've got to do first before I can go. It looks like it going to be an absolutely beautiful day though, semi warm and sunny.

    Happy Rails,

    Noah

  • dang game 7 tickets down the drain oh well we won in 69 so you guys deserved it nice elavator it looks really nice well see ya later ill probably be back later

  • James, nice SD10 ya got there!

Noah, you have a pretty good oppuritunity to catch stuff. Today, i "got mine", the WC 7504 led 2 CSX units today. Was so happy, I've wanted to see this engine *complete with NS safety striping and other NS details* for a while. Looks funky with white safety striping instead of yellow!
