Well, only hours until I meet up with my friend and detail his layout, watch rr videos and go railfanning!! It's going to be fun!!! We're meeting up at 9:30 am or something like that, they're taking me, and I won't return home until 7:00 pm.

Anyways, this maybe my last post tonight! Or maybe I'll shoot for 742 posts!!!!

I went to a club meet tonight and took a buddy my locos so he could install decoders in them... well all the details I had put on now had to be takin off.. Yeah i do the same things you do i suppose... do you use the details west stuff.... I just buy the kits and put'em on.... these are the first i've done though,... but being into racing as much as i am i've built tons of model stock cars... so i have practice at doing models.... like i said these were the first trains i have done,... but i was impressed on how my GP60 turned out.... even if the stuff did have, had to be pulled back off,,, the other ones (atlas stock items) just looked alot cleaner.... plus they had a decoder lights sound..... so I think I'll get those from now on and save the trouble...
  • Yeah Richard he didn't mean nothing, Hyuck![(-D][:-,]

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE model railroading, but I'm just saying I like railfanning better!!!!!

(Probably because I love working with cameras and enjoyng the fresh air, etc.)

Hey, there is always garden railroading. Here are some of my trains for my garden railway. It is in the planning stages.

Hi everyone. I mainly hang out in the Classic Toy Trains forum, but have decided to start jumping around. I might go railfanning in a little, and I have not been near the tracks in a while. The G scale outfit above I bought from a local train show, and I ran it on my club's floor layout. I have a lot more, but my sis has the dig. cam, so I have no access to it right now to take more pics. I will have it back tomorrow night, and hopefully I can get some night shots on my patio. I have O gauge as well, and I have had the TMCC system for a year on Christmas. If I can I will try to post sound clips from my engines.

  • Hey Colin [:)]

I like your F units. I have an SD9 (Blue Box) in the Black Widow scheme. That was a sharp paint scheme but SP had a lot of trouble keeping the silver looking good. Funny, how sorry (no offense guys) the blue and red scheme became because of lack of washing or additional touch ups when needed. The last 5 to 10 years of SP's life they did very little to keep up their locos. What a shame, a railroad so loved by so many railfans did so little to keep their image "clean". [:(] [V] [:(] They had some very dedicated workers, many were very sorry to have to merge. Trust me, I hear that a lot. [;)]

    Hey George. [:p]

How goes? [:o)] See ya on aim when you get done playing your game. [^]

For those with AIM, my nic is jhhtrainsplanes, so you can add me if you want to do so. I used to have MSN Messenger (and really like it much better) but my comp and it just don't get along anymore. [:(!] I was one of the ones who helped get a lot of the forum members together several years ago and start chats on msn. I wish I still had it. [:(]

Dock and I have had several emails going back and forward this morning. I truly believe he did not intend to insult anyone. All is good with everyone I hope.

Remember, the smileys, they can add so much to our words. [:)]

One quick question before I go mow the leaves. [V] In that group shot with 8 or 9 locos, the hihood with black and white stripes, is that an NS loco [?] We have several NS HiHoods that come around here. They are being leased by UP. I see NS and CSX, some CN, some IC, some WC, some BNSF (saw one still in SF paint just yesterday), lots of UP, and a big variety of leased units. UP is leasing a lot of units right now.

Hey guys, someone sent me a video clips of an NS hihood leading a train. The clips shows the whole train and it has a caboose on the end. [:0] [:D] If anyone would like this clip, email me and I will email it to you. I have dial up and it will take me about 20 minutes to upload it, so I would like to wait for a day or two (to email it out) so I can get everyone at once in the email (that is for those who want to see it) . I have already emailed it out to some of you. [;)]

    Take care and stay safe.

  • Heeeeeeeeeeeeeello! I just got back from taking pictures. Today we had WC 6555 leading, and CSX 8161. Look in New Brighton 4 in the rrpicturearchives link in my sig for the pics.

  • Chris, I also detail locomotives, although I’ve only gotten around to doing a small part of my fleet. I typically model exact prototypical locomotives, so when I detail, I add things based upon what I see in the photos. But, I always add MU cables, Snowplows, Grab Irons, Bell, correct style horn, and a few other things I am forgetting. That is why I don’t mind buying a blue-box locomotive, as they are a lot of fun to detail up.

I’ve had another great day today working on the module. I got a little more plastering done, and my Dad and I have been working on mounting the backdrop. I should be ready for a photo shoot very soon!

Awaiting the arrival of the WSOR’s normal Local up here to Reedsburg. Normally it is a Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday’s only job, and because Sunday was Christmas, he wasn’t up here. I’m guessing that means it should be a pretty good sized train tonight.

Well, I’m going to head out guys, got things to do, and I should go check and see if the glue dried so we can mount that backdrop.

    LOL yeah ***,

    What I miss??

Anyways, i was going to post, but I went t a friend's house, and was unable to get a post off quick enough. Nothing much happened today, but I got the stereo completely working, and so I am really happy!
I have detailed 3 locos, or should I say lowered the retail value...2 SD40-2s and 1 SD40. I added a new bell, new headlights and on one SD40-2 a new blower duct. Unfortunately, nothing looks quite right, so I'm thinking of replacing the cabs on the 2 -2s with more correct ones. I also custom painted the SD40, and it looks good, but not as good as the GP35, which looks absolutely awesome!
I'll be back in a few hours, until then remember,

    Model Railroading is Fun!

  • tmcc man- Funny you should mention garden railroading. No offense, but in my family, GR is just too big! We don't have enough room, money or time for that scale.

Dock_661- Thanks! I do appreciate that! It's just in your before post, there was NO sign of kidding around at all and I thought you were making fun of me.

Chris- What's been going on? Where've you been? I know I ask this all the time, but you leave to long and I get a lil' concerned sometimes that you might've left us.

Check my rrpa.net homepage below in my sig to view my friend's layout! Enjoy!!!

Understandable. I am still in the planning stages, and my parents promised the land grants for the Hidden Creek Railway Corporation 3 years ago, but still have not made the contract. I have a nice plan, in my head. 1 elevated loop, and 2 mainlines w/ a yard on the outside. I have the track picked out already, Stainless Steel. Plenty of buildings I hope. When I get the camera back tomorrow, I will post pics of my entire roster. I cannot wait to start lettering and detailing RR equipment in my own roadname.
