  • Alec, Nice pics! I especially like the one looking towards the sunset, and awful nice shot really.

I've got a few summer plans, although not for my layout but for my module that I display with my model railroad club. The main thing I want to do is scratchbuild/kitbash a roundhouse for the module, and add a bunch of different detail items around the engine servicing facility.

    What do you mean???

Anyway just came on to see how people are doing in the railroad world. I really like your night shot you got Alec. That was a pretty cool effect.
    Nothing much else to say.

  • Today was one of the wierdest days in school since the last day 2005 in May. So it starts normal cloudy then 2 hours testing, CRCT. Then look outside and its raining (thats 2 hours plus later in portable) then switch to 3rd period from Homeroom (CRCT schedule due to lunch) then go to lunch HUGE line look me 5 minutes but before I can get food the power turns off so I am like **** then a freind and me was like WANNA GO?! so we started punching our arms heck nobody could see us. I later learned that a freind got hit with a piece of chicken and a Power Ade bottle he also said he saw chicken numchucks flying across the room. It stays cloudy for the next hour and 30 minutes then doing my work I look up and holy crap it started turning dark like a darkish green (not really green) or really dark it was scary so I said ''are we sure its not 8 PM and is only 1 so, we went to the cafitaeria untill it was safe. Nothing happend that passed excitment like that.

  • Wow Oskar, and I thought Ohio's weather had issues. I wish some crap like that would happen at my school. But alas, when I go to school, it is as sunny as hell, then when the weekend comes, BOOM, storm - no railfanning!

By the way, I recently saw NS 7504 (painted ES40DC) pulling an auto rack. I also saw NS 2714, 2727 and 2749 (SD70M-2s) in fresh paint. Have you seen any 2700s yet?

Oh, Oskar, just a question... If you know, there is a locomotive on CSX that somebody vandalized. They put on the subbase "The Spirit of Selkirk." I'm not expecting you to know this, but if you have any idea, do you know the number of this unit.

Alec - Awesome night shots! I wish mine would be that good at night. My night shot sucks as it blurries up the camera when your hand makes the slightest movement.

    Anyways, talk to ya later....

  • RICHARD!!!!!! I was starting to worry! I see you changed your sig picture in the time between pictures! Although I think it's safe to say that your forum is dead..

Everyone,I emailed Chris a while back to see why he wasn't posting anywhere, and he said that he wanted to focus more on schoolwork, plus he was starting to dislike the forum a little bit.

ModelTrainLover - My plans for the summer include getting all the track down on my N scale layout, doing a lot of railfanning, getting good pictures at 89th street bridge (No examples) Exshaw (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/trainboysd40/AC4400andredbarnexshaw2004.jpg) Stephen (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/trainboysd40/ac4400stephen2002.jpg) (The Great Divide) Johnson Creek (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/trainboysd40/ab64657f.jpg) Mile 100 (http://trainboysd40.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=291341) And also a few at Banff.
Yesterday I borrowed an eight hour docudrama from the school library, it is awesome! And here's a measure of how screwed up my school is: It's an overnight rental! So I really have to work on watching it. Luckily I took a sick day.

  • Matthew - I see I got a couple new additions to me crew. Well, glad to see that happen regardless as to even if my forums are dead.

Give me your honest opinion - do you think I should close them? Just curious.

To all - If any of you want to check out my newest photos on rrpicturearchives.net, just go to my unicapital homepage below and look around. They'll be on there.

    Out!!

    .................

P.S.)- I submitted two photos to rp.net, we'll see how they turn out.

  • Thanks for the compliments guys!

Richard- At night, the ONLY way you will get a crisp shot is is the train is stopped (as the shutter speed is slow due to little light) and then if it is stopped, you need a tripod. Thats the ONLY reason my shots turned out. Good luck with rpics.

  • I have taken a few good pics at night, and yes, you definitely NEED a tripod and a train that is not moving an inch. I'll see what I can do about getting those pictures scanned, I think it's about time I got some prints of them..

  • Rick- no I haven't heard about the vandilized ''Spirt of Selkirk'' but I would have to say my prediction is a YN2 AC44CW. No I haven't seen any 2700 numbers only 2667 and 2681.

  • Anybody here into New England railroading?
  • John, it may be a cool effect, but look at what i said.

"At night, the ONLY way you will get a crisp shot is is the train is stopped "

Matt and I were talking about CRISP shots. But those are some beautiful shots.

  • Outrageous! RP.net rejected my sig pic shot (one of the shots I submitted), because it didn't have enough color..... what the heck?

    Oskar - Bingo! It is a YN2 AC4400CW. How'd you know?

Alec - I like time exposure. Have you ever looked into this? Unfortuneately, my camera can't do so....

I'm so excited for tomorrow. At school, I'm going on a field-trip to a camp from morning to 6 pm and am afterwards going straight to my friend's (railroad buddy's) birthday party - railfanning included!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    See ya guys around....
